Anyway, I don't really want to read everything before me, but I did read quite a few things. There have been official announcements. Like the PS3 is gonna have a new chip called "cell", which is supposed to be, um what was it again? 4 times faster than a P4 - 2.5Ghz... Also, they plan on releasing it in 2005, and thereby upholding the tradition of releasing a console every 5 years. Also, there's a large chance that the PS3 won't be using CD's or DVD's, but cartridges. If that's true, then you won't really be able to play PS2 and PS1 games on it. And then, there's that rumour that the PS3 will be able to record TV shows on it's hard-drive... There's that's everything I know about the PS3...

I also read someone saying the PS3 is gonna be an OS? What the? No, not at all, heh... It's got to be a console... Where did you get that info anyway?

They're going to do what Sega did.
But they shall probably still hold the handheld market, but re-releasing the SNES might not be such a good idea because all kids want "gwafix!"

doing so, probably might reduce the quality of the games too, since people only buy for *gwafix* as MasJ so nicely pointed out , the developers might start to not care, wether it's good or a bad game
