    Default Another Starcraft...although it sucks

Well, Blizzard is making another Starcraft.
But....like what Westwood did with RA, they're making it a freaking shoot-em-up. Pardon my french, but...DAMMIT!
Starcraft is my favorite RTS game of all time, and now they're devoting time to making a stupid console-only game like Doom for it.
"If it isn't broken, don't fix it."

    Thanks a lot, Blizzard.

I for one welcome change as long as they can pull it off well. What's with everyone lately being afraid if something deviates from the norm?

Well it's cool they're building a new type of genre for Starcraft but they should built a new starcraft before doing this.

btw Knachos, your link doesn't work, well doesn't work for me anyway

EDIT: What does it lead to?

It may not be broken to you, but to others it might have been... So Blizzard isn't really doing anything back. They made the game, they *probably* know more about it thank you and any of us here.

I'm quite sure Blizzard knows what they're doing.....we'll see when the game comes out, then we can start the critics or the praises, only thing i can give a minus for now, is that they won't ship it to pc

It may not be Starcraft 2 (darn it), but it will still be good. Every game that I can think of that Blizzard has made was good. It's what they do. I just got Warcraft 3, and I love it. I'm hoping Ghost will have lots of 'Blizzardy-goodness'.

And as for it having the same deathly fate as Renegade, I don't think it will. Lots of people I know will buy the game because Blizzard made it, and that's almost a gaurantee that it'll be good. And for a storyline in-game, it'll be easier to get since Starcraft actually has characters, unlike Command & Conquer. My only problem with Renegade was the repetetiveness of the enemies (and the AI), but with enemies being Zerg, Protoss, and Terran, none of that repetetiveness will be there.

Also, think of the multiplayer games. Now we'll get to see how much damage a marine can actually do. It has fun written all over it, especially if you can play as ultralisks!

Yes, it does suck for the people with no GCN, XBox, or PS2 (I have a GCN and XBox), but think of this: When Starcraft 2 comes out, it will most likely come out only for computer. As for me, I'll count the days till Ghost comes out.

Hmm, I found better info on it, so I'll just post it, here goes...
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

A: StarCraft: Ghost is a tactical-action console game set in the StarCraft universe.

Q: How will StarCraft: Ghost be different from other tactical-action console games?

    Q: Is this StarCraft II?
    A: No.

Q: Will there be a StarCraft II? When?
A: Although we have not made any announcements and do not have a development or release timeline, we do fully intend to revisit
the world of StarCraft on PC at some point in the future.

Q: Why is Blizzard Entertainment entering the console arena?
A: We began our early development efforts in console gaming, and we have always been excited about returning to this arena.
Additionally, we've wanted to revisit the StarCraft universe for some time. With StarCraft: Ghost, we are able to do both.
Also, due to the game's control interface and tactical-action nature, developing this title for the next-generation console
systems makes the most sense. In addition to expanding StarCraft's rich storyline, the game gives players a chance to experience
the sci-fi universe from an all-new perspective.

Q: Does Blizzard plan to develop any other console games?
A: While we have not made any announcements, we are considering future console development plans.

Q: What is the relationship between Blizzard and Nihilistic Software, Inc.?
A: Blizzard and Nihilistic are co-developing StarCraft: Ghost.

Q: Why did Blizzard choose Nihilistic as a development partner?
A: Nihilistic Software, Inc. is made up of a talented group of developers. We chose them because they share our vision and
focus in developing games. Their team members have worked on several great titles, and we are very pleased to be expanding
    the StarCraft universe with them.

Q: What is the relationship between Blizzard Entertainment and Capcom?
A: Blizzard and Capcom are co-publishing StarCraft: Ghost in Japan.

Q: Why did Blizzard choose Capcom as a publishing partner in Japan?
A: Blizzard has a longstanding relationship with Capcom. We chose them as our publishing partner because we have a great deal
of respect for the company and their products.

Q: When will StarCraft: Ghost be released?
A: We expect to ship StarCraft: Ghost in late 2003.

Q: What rating do you expect for StarCraft: Ghost?
A: We expect StarCraft: Ghost to receive a Teen rating from the ESRB.

Q: On what platforms will StarCraft: Ghost be available?
A: We are currently developing the game for multiple console systems. Further details regarding platform/country specifics
will be released in the months ahead.

Q: Will there be a PC and Mac version?
A: No. StarCraft: Ghost is only being developed for console systems.

Q: How many copies of StarCraft have been sold?
A: To date, the StarCraft franchise has shipped over 6 million copies.

It's interesting seeing how some humor sites have commented on it, even Something Awful did!
I'm waiting for Jeff K's opinion on the matter.

Penny Arcade, I never read that, although I've read Jeff K's revision of it..

I love both Warcraft and Starcraft. But in regards to Starcraft we have seen that change can be a good thing (Mario) or a bad thing (Contra). It just depends on the game. I not going to automatically hate it until I play it.
