    smokemonster,

Small error in the Folder Layout for the Super EverDrive & SD2SNES Pack: 1 US - J-R should be 1 US - N-R with the v5.0 reorganization.

SO your working on a neosd pack. Hope you do both aes and mvs. I plan on getting a mvs console. But not untill I see a proper rom set for it. Is there a difference between aes and mvs roms? Can I use FBA roms for both?

Just an FYI it looks like in the re-org of the Analogue Mini NT pack the changes to all of the copies of Holy Diver, Star Tropics & Star Tropics II were lost. As per teh read-me:

    * I can't get Star Tropics (either) to work! The game starts, but it's silent and crashes
    when I save!

fix: Set the submapper to 1 using an NES2.0 header editor. There's one built into Nintendulator.

    * Holy Diver appears to have bad nametable mirroring.

fix: you must set submapper to 3 using an NES2.0 header editor.

There's no difference between AES and MVS roms, it's simply an option changed via a soft dip. E.g., if you have Metal Slug 2 MVS, you make it an "AES ROM" by changing a menu setting from Arcade (MVS) to Console (AES). The Unibios also has this option, and I highly recommend installing one if you get an MVS or AES (or CD even). I have 4 different MVS PCBs and put a Unibios in all of them. I also have two Neo Geo CD-Zs and one NGCD, but haven't done them yet.

The Darksoft kit will use pure unmodified MAME roms. NeoSD requires a specific MAME set that you patch and convert using their program.

it's a shame you can't help us out. Just lazy finding a proper rom set. But thanks for the other rom sets you have. That copy of donky kong 64 in the everdrive 64. Is it patched? I don't want to play the game and loose my save again.

NeoSD requires MAME roms. You use their patcher program to convert them into its format. In order to get said their patcher, you have to own a NeoSD. Someone has already made a perfect 100% set for NeoSD, so I would be reinventing the wheel if I supported it.

If a ROM is patched, it's labeled in the filename. Donkey Kong is on 2600, 5600, 7800, ColecoVision, NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, and N64 so you'll have to be more specific.

Thanks. A link would be nice of those roms.
I edited it. I don't understand why it didn't stick. Donky kong 64. I had a rom before that erased my save. I found a cracked version with a save fix with a intro. But the one in the pack doesn't specify. Maybe it's no intro thats why?

I don't have permission share them, but you should be able to find them at the neo-geo.com forums I think.

DK64 doesn't require any patches. After you save in-game, hit reset on the console and your saves will be written to the SD card. If you simply power-off, your save-games will be lost. That applies to all games with save-support. That is, unless you have an ED64 V3 (saves are immediately written to SD).

Well went to go play and that save file was gone. All the extra stuff in the menu's were still there it was just the save. I read it's a problem with dk64. If I turned off the console wouldn't it just revert to the save before I did it proper? This is a old rom I had on my pc. I have recently upgraded to your rom pack. with the latest firmware
I am working with a everdrive 64 version 2 I think. got it a long time ago.
I am tempted to get a v3. But the everdrive 64 i have now is working well and I don't have to worry about replacing battery's so I think. if it had savestats it would be a instant buy.

I'm not sure what's going on, but the DK from the pack should save perfectly. The save_db.txt is already setup for DK. It must be something on your end. Make sure your old save file matches the filename of the rom that you're using exactly.

He literally just told you how to save the damn thing. It has absolutely nothing to do with his packs and is a limitation of the ED64 V2 if you want to save all you need to do is reset after you save to write it to the sd card, or if that is too complicated and all you can do is complain that other people are responsible for your inability to read an instruction manual then upgrade to the V3 which is more idiot proof because you need it.

Ok then it's my falt. Sigh. But the thing is it's not like the whole save is gone. The extra stuff you unlock wile playing the game in the settings are there. It's the save banana itself no longer there. The thing is dk 64 is one of those games that has a save problem that's why I thought it was my old rom I had after doing some research on google.
Alright ill be carful next time. I think I may restarted wile in the everdrive menu could that done anything. IDK.Im going to play dk with the crack save fix version maybe i won't mess up. It works for now.

I'm clocking back in for one little thing and then I'll be away again. I'm way too fan-boy excited the Super NT right now, so I made time for this

Nerdly Pleasures blogged an awesome review of the NT Mini, with some detailed info about NES compatibility. I've applied all of the fixes in his article and updated the Jailbreak Pack to v1.7. The only thing I didn't do was to lower the number of files per folder, since we tested and it made no discernible difference. Plus that would be a major pain.

Only the CPU is 8bit, it isn't considered the same gen as nes/sms.
