PS2 emulation is demanding but 50 FPS?

Sounds like your system is pretty up there to be honest.

Look the games up on the wiki and you may get hints for optimization.

If you update your PCs drivers and have entire directx redist installed/etc. it should run just fine.

You need to tinker to get things to run the way you want them too.

50 fps isn't slow. The PS2 console isn't capable of that, nor is the PS3 or even some PS4 games iirc.

What deadlegion says. Full speed for PS2 games means either 60 (NTSC-U/J) or 50 FPS (PAL). Any more and it will be too fast, any lower and the game will lag. So I assume you are playing PAL versions of the aforementioned PS2 games. 50 FPS is the most you get.

The OP said KOF 2006, that is the NA version so it runs at 60 FPS on a NTSC console yet he said PCSX2 is giving him 50 FPS.

seems like a tad underpowered perhaps or in need of optimization with his emu settings.

60Hz doesn't mean the game is running at 60fps.
PS2 games don't run at 60fps on the console.

Some PS4 games only run at 30fps.

Make sure you're not running a gazillion things in the background.

Speedhacks may be necessary, if they don't corrupt the graphics or cause bugs then leave them on.

As Warrior said consult a wiki for specific game settings. It's a pain in the ass I know but many games run a little differently.

You can try switching from dx9 to 10 or even give software mode a try.

And obviously the more you upscale the more resources you'll need so leave the resolution at native while testing out a game for the first time.

Your PC "should" be enough to run just about everything at full speed at native. Some games still have compatibility issues and won't run well despite any effort but that list is getting smaller all the time so once again consulting a wiki for a game or a compatibility list is a good idea.

i kinda solved it. set the VUs to super VU recompiler in the Emulation Settings. but that on the Official build.
actually im looking to run it at full speed on the netplay build released by some fans or other dudes which is some 2012 release and doesn't seem very up to date

Metal Gear Solid 3 online does sound like fun, its very easy to play Portable Ops and Peacewalker online with PPSSPP too, can assign the Dpad to two places, and one of those places being the right stick, makes the games way better.
