Default Judge Dredd not working on MAME

I'm using MAMEUI64 v0.165. The games in question are Judge Dredd (L-7) 1993 and Judge Dredd (rev C) 1997. The window says they should work and they run but the latter ends up with a blank screen and the former ends up with a screen with just yellow writing on it.

The prototype version is the only one that works.

    Audit says:

jdredd : upd78081.655 (8192 bytes) - NOT FOUND - NO GOOD DUMP KNOWN

This is becouse your video drivers is uncompatable or outdated

You could try download all latest driver for your graffic or if doesn't help you
then try to install advanced registry cleaner as like as good app who called auslogics registry cleaner
and clean all old data which is crew junk or second solution is try to scan your disk for errors and etc with
    this command: sfc /scannow
    then just click enter

I hope that will help you )

If you have any tiny questions when you should stuck then I will help you

I did a scan but I think we're barking up the wrong tree since I have over 100 other games all working fine.

I'm on a HD5770 video card. Driver Restore program says 'no updates'.

    ZX81 says:
    BAD DUMP/Needs Redump/No Good Dump Known - Don't Panic
The roms (as released) are incomplete due to various reasons as
protection not emulated/missing chip dumps/Incomplete dumps. It
don't mean the game won't run, just not as it was originally intended.
Not Found and Incorrect Checksum errors - wrong/missing roms
    - redownload latest version of romsets

I may have forgotten something but if you still have questions feel free to ask we don't bite (not very often anyway!)

At my oppinion you have to download this same game from other trusted source

Did you also get the bios image and the CHD image from the same page

the chd file should also be stored in a sub folder named jdredd

also make sure you have a newer version of MAME to play it on

The game works ok though, a bit over flicker in places and the intro is out of sinc but otherwise it plays ok

Make sure you have mouse enabled for this one

So do I need to put the bios, ROM and CHD file in a subfolder?

I tried them zipped and unzipped in the subfolder. Zipped didn't work at all, unzipped loaded to blue hardware emulation info page and then flashed some colours before remaining blank. Rev C was used.

    v0.165 of MAME.

Bios and CHD from same page.

the bios file is another rom and should be stored in the same folder as the game rom (The Roms folder), keep both the game rom and the bios rom zipped the jdreddc.chd file should be stored in a sub folder of Roms called jdredd it should not be zipped

    Path layout and files
Roms>jdredd.zip (the games rom (a basic boot rom with instructions to read the HDD for the games data files))
Roms>acpsx.zip (the bios rom (Main arcade system rom (there are other games available for the same arcade system))
Roms>jdredd>jdreddc.chd (the HDD image file (contains the games data files))
