Geometry Wars: Galaxies (Wii).

Pretty much the most awesome game ever. Especially for a shmupper like me.

Got Super Mario Galaxy and Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. Umbrella Chronicles is awesome, and Galaxy is my vote for Game of the Year. Just absolutely awe-inspiring.

It's still done with a button press, but the cool part is that the sound of the neck snapping comes out through the Wii Remote speaker. Makes it that much more badass.
