ok, I understand now.
pins 1 and 42 will be left hanging and must be bent upward. Also bend up pin 32. These three pins must be connected to A18, A19 and A20 on the cart edge with wire.

I don't understand the question. How many pins does the board support? Less than 42?
Also worth mentioning: I would not use a "not-working" board as a donor cart.
