You could also try media player classic. It should aloow you to switch streams.

UPnP is nice if you need it - but if you can do it manually, turn of UPnP, because there's still quite a few security holes with UPnP that will put you at risk.
Have you tried just re-installing the application?

See if there are any wireless ISP's in your area. Some offer symetrical bandwidth - for example, 2mb down and 2mb up (I know of one locally, :))

I've used easy recovery professional with some luck. was able to get quite a few thigns back. Just don't expect miracles.
Maybe, if he catches it. You might be lucky, and have UPnP on, in which case Azureus (bt client) would automatically map the ports needed.
