I tried out Metroid NES, but I failed miserably. Either I suck at NES games, or they're just damn hard. Or both. Nubs like me need save stations and in-game maps. :(

Same here, doing my annual FF7 playthrough right now :P I'm probably closer to 10 times. Maybe this time I'll finally beat Emerald Weapon

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. The bosses are friggin hard! The level-based approach is interesting, but I'm just waiting to get to the castle. The glyph system is cool, though
