first, dont write anything more to your hd. get a file recovery prog (http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Back-Up-and-Recovery/Restoration.shtml)
try that. i use it and its quite good....

if u look at ur psx disc in ur comp, there will be a file that tells the game's id.

any game beginning with slus and scus are ntsc u/c. sces and sles are pal games. slps and another one (i forget)...
