This is a HD texture pack for use with Elsemi's MODEL 2 emulator or with Nuexzz's Daytona USA++ patch.
This pack has been created with a lot of respect for the original game, its creators, its fans.

Note:
The download for ElSemi's Model2 emulator contains a clean "scripts" folder with LUA files for all the games (with widescreen options, cheats, scanlines),
the texture pack, the original necessary files. Replace the original "scripts" folder by this new one.
Please read the Readme file !

The download for Nuexzz's D++ patch contains a clean "scripts" folder with LUA files generated by the patch, the texture pack, the original necessary files.
Replace the original "scripts" folder by this new one.
Please read the Readme file !

The download with the texture pack only is for people having created their own LUA files, or having texture packs for other games, etc...
(It is also a good option for people using the new Model2 UI made by Nuexzz). Copy all the files (PNG+PAT+PS) to your customized (or not) "scripts" folder.
Please read the Readme file for the mode_14 recommendation !

The textures will be easily recognizable as their name starts by DU_ (Daytona USA). Ex : DU_BEG_Wall.png means Wall in the Beginner Circuit of Daytona USA.
I'll start Sega Rally after a pause, the textures will be named SR_..._... .png)

Go into EMULATOR.INI change WideScreenWindow ..already set to --> 0 Change 0 - 4:3, 1 - 16:9, 2 - 16:10

My problem was that my screen didn't go into 4:3 mode. This accour regarding that I put the wrong custom full screen resolution in the ini file. I went back and put 800 : 600 and now I am able to switch the monitor in Tru 4:3....sounds strange... Yes it is but it work fine. I ll be waiting for the release of your version... And the performance.... Than I can play the best arcade racing game ever over and over :)

You've found the solution :)
Use a 4:3 resolution to get a 4:3 fullscreen ratio,
killapinke has also given a solution for windowed mode whatever the resolution.
It's coming very soon, I'm on the last details.

... I must say the best results are with 1920x1080 for a 16:9 ratio, and 1280x1024 for 4:3 (yes a big PC is recommanded for 1080p)
lower resolutions kill the effect a little bit in fullscreen mode (aliasing).

Could you please tell the hardware requirements... Your opinion so that it runs perfect?

I actually have a i5 7400 @3gHz CPU with NVidia GTX1070 graphic card which is much more than required for 1080p.
My old Dual core @ 3gHz CPU with GEForce300 didn't run a smooth 1080p. My friends all have killer configurations...
Something between the 2 configs I've mentionned should be OK. Sorry for not being able to give a better answer, maybe other users will do :).
The size of the textures pack is only 40mb, I've done my best for a fast loading time and compatibility on smaller configs.

My current Emu Arcade System is set as follows.

CPU - Intel I5 7200 4 x 3800 mhz
Gpu - Radeon Arcade VGA 5000
500Gb SSD
16Gb Ram
Win 7 64 bit SP2

Regarding some issues during rendering I will change only the Gpu. I thing 1050 Gtx should be more than enough for all arcade stuff till the end of 19th century.

Hi Wolfgang !

Go to your model2emu folder, where you installed it.
Rename your existing script folder (name of your choice), if you still need it, or delete it.
extract the zip you've downloaded in your model 2 emu folder : a new script folder appears (to replace the other one) and a readme file.
that's all. In the readme file you'll have informations :)

(In my script folder there are also cheats for all the Model 2 games.
I've made the widescreen option selectable by pressing F5 ingame.)

- I have not applied the patch to Daytona '93.

Sounds easy so far. So last question. In order to run all other model 2 Games does this work still or do I have to create special for daytona a single setup

The textures will be applied only on Daytona USA, except '93 version.

You can still use all the other games, no changes for them (except that all my lua files will affect them a little bit : you'll get selectable cheats (infinte time, health,...), the ability to switch from 16:9 to 4:3 by pressing F5, and go back to 16:9 repressing F5 on every game).

If my additions don't suit you, just copy the lua files from your original SCRIPT folder to my SCRIPT folder. Before doing that just try :) : launch a game, switch to windowed mode (ALT+ENTER), go to "Game"/"Cheats & Options" and see the new options, try pressing F5, etc... ;)

If it's your 1st try with this emulator, follow the instructions I wrote in the "HD TEXTURES readme file", to set the DAYTONA "cabinet" to DELUXE (if not done the colors will be awful on a PC monitor or flat TV).

Place the roms in a "ROMS" folder !

You must set your "cabinet" to SINGLE mode (instead of MASTER as seen in your pic, MASTER or SLAVE is for LINK mode) for this use F2 (test button) and F1 (service button). Read my readme file :)

So everything works fine now but the gpu I have to replace... I need a better faster one. But that's no big deal. What I wanna know is how to set the game playable on a analog controller. I've got one but it is not possible to set the left analog stick for steering. Maybe defect? Is it possible to use and set Logitech controlwheel shift and pedal set for daytona?

Launch a game in Windowed mode, then go to the menu "Game" / "Configure Controls..."

Everything works now... The problem is that you first have to set the checkbox and than set the controller. Otherwise some issues with setting the right of the 2 analog sticks occur. Now I need a steering wheel cause the dead point and the full way of steering range is way to short for precise control compared to the arcade. I don't get 1st place in beginner and expert cause sometimes you drift too much ragarding the control stuff.... Daytoooonaaaa.... Let's go way.... F.. King earwig :)

Great work but I recognize one strange issue. The radar which shows you the cars behind or anywhere else is flickering while using daytona regular with the texture pack. If I play daytona 93 I do not have this issue.

There's nothing I can do to fix that. When a lot of textures are replaced this happens.
I tried all the textures one by one to see if one of them was responsible but none individually...

Before I release the update, I'm also redoing from scratch all the textures of the car, (Gallop, Hornet,...) because my colors were the same on all the different playable cars (especially in link mode) and a few real fans wanted their original colors back.
