can i use controller for ps2 emulator?

i just downloaded the dot. hack saga for the ps2 emulator. is there anyway I can use some kind of controller? like how steam allows you to use an xbox one controller with a Bluetooth adaptor. if so what would be the requirements to do so.

The emulator should have a plugin with it to let you easily configure a controller for it. Any USB controller should be recognized by it.

Go to config then controllers(pad) then plugin settings like so

then on the top left corner, click on pad1 and then map the PS2 controller buttons on the xbox one controller by ,for example, click on square and the press corresponding button on the xbox controller.

Do this for the rest of the buttons and thumb sticks like so

Any controller will work these days. You may have to search or install the odd driver.
