Texture Popping and Game Crash in Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam

Hi there. I finally got THDJ playing with a wired controller, but it's not exactly working all that well. :/ Firstly, texture popping. The floor is just not there. It's glitchy CONSTANTLY. :/ Secondly, probably more important, the game crashes quite easily. I managed to get about a minute into a race and then it froze, causing me to close it hard-way. :( I tried tweaking loads of the settings but nothing seemed to help. I think I only made it worse... as is my way. Anyone know anything that might help? :)
