Problem with controls

I have the Nintendo DS core downloaded and Pokemon platinum on Android and in the beginning it recuires you to press a button on screen that cannot be pressed due to nds being touchscreen and the core not allowing it. How can i get past this and fix this bug or is it impossible?

Use drastic instead of retroarch, it has way more compatibilitt and allows you to do everything you need. Retroarch sucks on android, unfortunately.
