Dl such cheapskate.
It's an ancient rig that only has a dual core. Never spent any money on it and the card was free.
If the cheap psu can't provide enough power (it's rated peak 800w but I should only need under 600w at peak use), by law the seller has to provide a full refund as it isn't "fit for purpose". If it explodes he's open to litigation, something like that is seriously life threatening so highly unlikely anyone would be stupid enough to sell faulty gear, especially known good sellers.
Likely scenario is that instead of it being silent as claimed it has a fan with some noise
From what I read I think it was a mid-range card but on the lower side, well the base card is but this Palit version is/was one of the most expensive variants (if not the most expensive but idk for sure).
Normally you could only get a 1GB max card but this is double that. It's also oc from Palit, albeit only slightly, and it can be oc'd about another 5-8% iirc.
Fan apparently isn't silent.
Has all three port types: vga, dvi & hdmi. You can use an adapter on the hdmi port to run dual dvi from it but idk if the reverse is possible (dual hdmi). Even if you could do that the converted dvi port wouldn't have audio pass-through.
Mine is whisper quiet at least. Only 19W too. Still an old pos though
Yeah you could easily get something way better than this and it would only be a cheap bottom end card. But it's pretty hard to find anything 2GB new that's under like $40-50.
Wouldn't matter what card I added I'd definitely need another psu anyway  This current one is like 240w and I've pushed it as far as it will go with what's running off it atm.
Sounds pretty much the same as mine (PSU) If I didn't have a low profile vid card my comp would have dove out the window committing suicide by now :revwacko:
Still, it does what it does and that's all it does. Fine for movies and such.
Yeah just before I got the xbone I was looking but gave up, seemed pointless spending $50 on a card for this pos and then having to buy another psu as well because of the card.
Spending $80 or so on something that's this bloody old seemed silly. Different story now though, if I spend $30 (or less if I can source an alternative) then the rig will be better overall.
I hardly ever have it turned on anyway so the power usage wouldn't be a major issue for me...I use my laptop all the time and it uses hardly anything.
Wow. Thunder. Don't hear that too often around here
