2 ps4 controllers

So me and my friend have 2 ps4 controllers to use for the PS2 emulator. Before he came over, I used 1 ps4 controller for pad1 and it worked just fine. Now when I switch to pad2 and use the other controller to set up controls, the first controller controls both players. I've done sme internet scouring and I can't find a solution, any info you guys have would be beyong helpful.

You're running both controllers through the same bluetooth device?
Try using them connected with usb cables.
