Racing Wheels/Spyhunter Emulator

Hello all

I'm extremely new to emulator games but a friend helped me install one on my MacBook and I'm having a blast with some reproductions different folks have posted of the original Spyhunter (1983). I am using OpenEmu and a PS4 Dualshock controller, which is all well and good but it would be much better if I could use a racing wheel/pedal setup. I just bought a PS4 T80 Thrustmaster and I can't seem to figure out how to use it in the game. I can connect it and using the controller settings window I can select it from a list, I've even got some of the buttons to cause some activity in the game but certainly no steering and no pedal action. If anyone's done this before and could give some pointers I'd really appreciate it, thanks

P.S. I wrote this question in to the help forum at OpenEmu through GitHub but it flagged me as some kind of spammer or something so I can't use that one anymore it seems.
