I cannot run Wii games backups on my Pal Wii

So, I've bought a new Wii on Monday, I wanted to softmod it, I installed the Homebrew channel, I installed BootMii, I installed cIOS, USB loader GX,and the Multi Mod Manager, but I still can't run Super Mario Galaxy 2 (NTSC-U), or any other game on my PAL Wii, I know that USB loader GX has a function to make my Wii act like a NTSC Wii, but when I run it, it stays at a black screen and turns off my Wiimote, then I have to force restart my Wii. Could somebody please help me? EDIT: My games are on my USB in the WBFS format, I also use a SDHC.

First best format for the drive is Fat32 with 32 cluster size (Windows nowerdays does not support that so a 3rd party formatting tool is required [one comes with ModMii]) for GC compat evrything else can run from that drive format also WBFS drive format sucks the file format is fine though

you can set per game setting or default settings for everything I recommend you set the video out to be that of the disc rather than the system, it should auto detect the correct video then

Just use a USB HDD drive as the SD slot itself is very slow (the speed of the SD card has no effect to that)

If you are using a USB flash memory device like a USB stick then you will need another mod to fix issues with USB sticks even if you used ModMii to hack your Wii (If you did not use that, then it is still worth using to make sure you have everything you need to run Wii and GC games fine)

Personally I do not use a SD card at all and even most of my saves are stored on the USB HDD via a Virtual Nand along with Virtual Console games and WiiWare games as my real Nand got rather full very quick with just saves so not even including Virtual Console that can be rather big especially N64 games

I mean, all my games are on my USB, the games are in the WBFS format, the USB is in the Fat 32 format

Do PAL games work?

What do you have hooked up to your USB?

I could not find any pal games, and my USB contains some songs, and a wbfs folder

If you can, could you send me a link to the PAL version of SMG2?

I don't think we have that here. But if you want to try a PAL dump that is a very small dl (like 20MB) you could try this:

It extracts as a full size DVD5 iso though, so you'll need to convert it to wbfs or whatever to use it on a fat32 drive (fat32 has a 4GB file size limit).

wbfs format ignores the limit anyway and splits bigger games as well as removes the junk so will still be very small in size anyway

P.S. still no info as to what you are storing the games on (USB is not enough information)

Still does not work, not even PAL games, and I'm using a Pretec 8GB flash drive. I use the slot nearest to the cover on my Wii.
EDIT: And yes, I tried both USB loader GX and wiiflow, both don't work, but when trying to use FCEUX GX on the USB loader, it actually starts and I can play NES games!

Likely whatever format your drives are isn't right. As Zorlon already said fat32 has to be 32kb cluster size to work for softmod.

Oh I didn't realise you could actually run anything at all. Yeah might be cios I guess.

Just run through ModMii there is one extra cios you will want to install as Flash Drives will have issues with some games but this is not the issue at this time so will go through that later

You have more chance of doing more harm than good installing individual cios's alot of those are outdated now

Homebrew will run from just about any partition type so not a valid point
