Joust
I downloaded the zip file Joust (white/green label) to my roms and it won't load to play on my emulation station. Not sure what white/green label means... anyway
does it not belong in Mame? Is it not an arcade? How do you tell which system folder a game goes under (Nintendo, Atari, Mame, Sega etc??)
Im a green horn here but I built an awesome Arcade system to play with now so I'm teachable. :prude:

It's a MAME rom obviously but it may not be for the version of MAME your "emulation station" runs
-
ThanX I got it to work under a different version and with the white/red label rom... whatever that means.
I can get some games to work, however...
I've tried several Mame versions for my Emulation station and I can not seem to get 90% of most m.a.m.e roms to load after installing them so am I missing something? Is there something about a setI or setII on some of these I see? Do a lot of them have plug ins or component files I should download? Are they just corrupt?
"Dragon Bruce lee" for example
Anny specific technique to downloading and copying files onto my raspberry pie I should know about?

The rom set needs to be the same version as MAME e.g. if MAME is version 0.180 the rom set need to be 0.180 for all the games to work
for MAME you always need the parent rom
games that have roms as well as chd's you will need both the rom and the chd
-
Ok I see. ThanX
So what are chd's?
-
none rom dumps
rom dumps are dumps of chips
chd dumps are from HDD CD-Rom GD-Rom DVD-Rom ect ect
