Questions about DS flashcarts?

I use a 3DS XL and a New 3DS XL. I'm looking for a flashcart that will play original DS games. I've lost a few of my games and I don't want to buy them again. I don't know anything about using flashcarts but google seems to point to this most often R4i GOLD 3DS RTS. There seem to be a lot of similarly named things though and I'm really confused which is which.

So my questions are, is this worth it? I just want to play and save easily and reliably. Is it easy to work out and set up for a total noob who hasn't ever done anything more complicated with a console than just insert and play? How do I tell which one is the right one? Is there a better version out by now? Where should I buy it? I know Nds-card is legit but their PayPal workarounds make me nervous, I really don't want PayPal or my card company coming after me.
