There's no option to load a game in Chrono Trigger?

Hello everyone.

I played Chrono Trigger for a few hours.
Decided to save the game on the world map to continue next time.

When I bootup the game again, I can only see the options 'Active' and 'Wait'. Choosing these 2 will send you back to the beginning of the game.
Why is that happening? I see the Chrono Trigger .srm file in the saves folder just like any other game saves.

How can I load the game properly?

I'm using RASnes9x 0.015.

It sounds like you created a save state file and not a regular save. I'm not familiar with the emulator you're using, but if you look around there should be an option to load state, which you'd want to select after booting up chrono trigger. After that i'd suggest you make a regular save file.

srm is a SRAM save not a save state

but it is possible that the emulator is auto restoring a save state before the normal in-game save was created resulting in the loss of progress and reverting to srm to be blank

If there is any auto load state options disable them

With every other game, the saves are just in the save folder and just work normally. Just with Chrono Trigger, I don't know what's wrong.
The emulator is a modified version of Snes9x 1.53. It disables save states and allows for programmable 'Achievements' with RAM reading or so you can do for fun.
I'm just playing the game for the first time anyways.

If the same issue does not reside in the official port of snes9x then it is obviously a RASnes9x port issue

It is worth testing to rule that out

If it ends up being a problem with the port then report the issue at the official site/forum for RASnes9x

Shame there is not a RA PSX port the game is also on PSX and DS
