and I just saw this one, http://www.downthemall.net/
JD should work.
I've had it working for ages on an old XP machine that is just a single core Celeron 1.7GHz
Use the offline installer.
I hate Jdownloader - may it burn in hell. I've been using IDM short for Internet Download Manager and have been happy with it so far
the offline wont work for me and the regular one just gives me an error and wont download anything.
Use the DownThemAll! addon for Firefox then. I've used that a fair bit but only for small stuff.
Moved to Computer Corner.
Ever since JDownloader updated it would not run any more, uninstalled it then tried to reinstall it with the offline installer, wouldn't install.
Now im stuck using damn mipony.......
Did you have a look on the JD forums? To me that sounds like some sort of java issue.
I think a while back there was some mention of avoiding a java update, or to deal with it in a specific way but I honestly can't remember the details atm. It was a couple of years ago though.
Have you tried installing JD2?
I use downthemall. It usually works, but I noticed that some file hosting websites don't support it and when you use it you'll just get an error file with the download. I tried to download something from uploaded earlier, and got an error file. That just means they don't support download managers.
well i decided to use that "malicious" webinstaller to install jd2 and it works fine now. ran a security scan and nothing was picked up (super antispyware plus) and i have malwarebytesw always runing. so i have everything fine for now
I don't think I've heard complaints about JD2's installer. Which might explain the issue with them, they might've intentionally borked the installer to get everybody to move to JD2. Which would be world class stupid....
What do you mean by wouldn't run? I just updated mine the other day and I've noticed a few hosts that I'm sure worked before the update are tossing me plugin out of date errors now :| It's still working though, and it's just a handful of hosts.
You could try JDownloader 2. It's currently in beta but is way better than V1.
Jdownloader 2 also has adware
