So, what was the first game you ever played?
I watched my brother play a few games on a snes when I was little, but I never got to play it.
My first time playing a game was Crash Bandicoot 2, played it for about fifteen minutes on an itty bitty cruise ship.
How about you?
Mousetrap - Intellivision.
I think Metal Slug in an arcade, fell in love with games then but wasn't years later till I had a platform to actually play games on.
First game I ever actually owned and also the first I ever finished was The Secret of Monkey Island on PC.

Thats a hell of a question for someone my age (35) to remember, but uhh I think the first game I remember playing was "Freeway" on Atari. Then like Pac Man, Centipede, Millipede, Zaxon...Holy shit I could go on...and I will. Yars Revenge, Mighty Bomb Jack. The first epic game I ever experienced in the arcade was Kung Fu (Legend) which is by no means epic by todays standards. "Gladiator" which still rocks, and "Kid Niki" were pretty epic for their time. "Star Wars" (arcade booth) w/ the shitty wire frame graphics was epic in the early 80's. "Cross Bow", remember that peice of shit game..? "Rastan"..still epic till this day. Anyone remember "Solvalou"..? Street Fighter 2's first release..and MK 1's release for that matter. Fucking epic times...
Either Mission X or Beauty and the Beast (both Intellivision).
Seems to me my first game, played @ home, was Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt on NES. Though I had play some of those Atari & Intellivision games on said systems, but I played them a little later. Still fun to play! (though now I found out Zappers don't work on LCD TVs. :( )
As far as I can remember mine was SMB/Duck Hunt combo on the NES when I was about 3-4 years old, along with Rampage and Akari Warriors. The first that I actually really got into console wise though was when I got the Donkey Kong Country SNES bundle a few years later, the first game I remember playing with any sort of obvious story line and significant amount of in-game text and dialog.
That explains why my friend and I were having so much trouble playing...I thought my zappers were shot...bummer :(Quote:

Some boxing game on Intellivision. I was probably 2 at the time so I don't remember much about it except the controller sucked (no surprise).

Either Donkey Kong Country or Super Mario World on the Snes. Gifts for my older sister on her birthday and hidden in a boot and the fridge respectively. She didn't want to let me play... selfish girl.
Pac-Mania and Sonic the Hedgehog 1991 both on the Mega Drive... in 1992. xD
Made me the Sonic Fan I am today though. I regret nothing~. ^_^

I'm thinking it was a Telstar Pong or maybe one from Radio Shack....four switch-deal; 'hockey', 'smash', etc..etc..
Dont think we got the 2600 until I was about 5 or so, and up until then, pretty much the only games available were of the Pong-types, heh. ;)
Some kind of Tank vs. Tank game you could hook up to the TV and this is way, WAY back in the day.
I think my first game was Super Mario bros. either that or super mario bros 3...

I had the good fortune of having a few friends who had an SNES with EarthBound and Legend of Zelda on it.
I always enjoyed playing zelda because I just liked running around and attacking the guards, and EarthBound was one of the first RPGs I ever played.
It was an awesome experience for me (I was around 6 when this happened) because all I ever had was a GameBoy before then, so it was interesting playing games on a larger screen.
Mario Bros. for NES my older sister had one and I always played with her. My favorite tho was Super Mario Bros. 3

For console, it was definitely Super Mario World, probably closely followed by Mario Paint. For PC...I want to say it was Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade by LucasArts or LucasGames or whatever they were going by back then, but that doesn't feel right. So probably something like Bar Games from Accolade or SkiFree :wacko:
Wolfenstien 3D......i still play it now and then to this day....now the game i wish i could get ahold of that ive been looking far and wide for an ISO is Top Gun: Fire At Will for DOS
Haven't heard of Ebay? Game is dirt cheap and there's lots of copies on there. You were complaining about download speeds earlier, so I'm not sure why you want an ISO.Quote:

I don't know for sure its foggy back there but im sure its either Super Mario World or Donkey Kong Country both of which are fine by me on account for first game.
Gosh i still remember that day though i walk into best buy to find a Sonic 2 (genesis) promotion going on because it got released and i saw Sonic and Tails balloons (the ones they use at parades) and my dad bought me my Snes when i turned 3 along with Super Mario World however apparently I might have played DKC when I came home so he might of got that 2 so i really do not know for sure. ahh good memories.
First game I ever saw: Pac-Man on the Atari 2600. Couldn´t figure out what the hell was that ugly almost monochromatic mess that was on that store´s TV.
First game I ever played: Venture on the Colecovision. Still remember the "music" in the room with the blue monsters... Decent game.
First game I actually liked: Tarzan for the Colecovision. That game is still awesome! And I still can´t figure ot how to pass that multi level stone temple with the gorillas and firebreathing statue at the top! XD
First game I owned: A 4 in 1 cartridge for a Venezuelan made Famicom bootleg. It had Bomberman, Circus Charlie, Star Force and F1 Race. Not a bad selection, all things considered. The really great games and a real NES came later.
First game i ever played i think might of been space invaders but then again it was probably the system we had before sega megadrive i wish for the life of me i could remember what it was called. i belive it had asterix on it and some other games.
First game i ever clocked was ghouls 'n' ghosts on sega megadrive was so cool, clock it once and you gotta run back through the world again and clock it another time but the stages have some oddities and after clocking it the second time at the end you have to fight a huge demon which pretty much took up the whole screen. had to jump around on its knees and shoot at its face if i remember right.
I think it was the first or second crash bandicoot. I played it at some guys house probably when i was in my late single digit years, and shortly got my own ps1 because i kept asking to go over there xD. Feels like I had the original gameboy with donkey kong around that same time but I think that was a few months later probably.
Sonic the hedgehog 3 for me.
I was about 3 and I used to think Knuckles and tails were girls D:
Gauntlet 2 i was 7 or 8 years old i still play that one on mame some times,it brings me good memories :)
Ehhhh.... I think it was Shinobi at a local pharmacy. Or the Michael Jackson Moonwalker machine that was parked right next to it. Good times!
Edit: The first game I played in my own home was a game called Movie Monster by Epyx for some kind of old Apple computer we had when computers were first making it into the home scene. Movie Monster was amazing. You picked your favorite monster whether it be Marshmallow man, Godzilla, The Blob, Mothra, or a slew of others and just went around destroying the city a la rampage style. Soooo fun!
The first game I ever played was some weird game on Mac that I can't remember the name of. You had to sell creatures called "fripples" or something like that to match the customers description, so one customer might want a blue fuzzy one, and the next might want a small yellow one. I must have been about 4-5 years old when I played it :P
I think it was Harvest Moon: Back to Nature or TLO Zelda: Majora's Mask. It took me a while to try games for the first time, but those two still are between my favorites up to this day! Actually, I played them both really young, and since there wasn't a Spanish version of them, they really helped me learn some english basics.
First game i ever played was dunk hunt i use to watch my dad and his freinds play it while getting smashed drunk they loved it good times lol .(dont laugh you do the same thing with call of duty)
