they wont be missed by me, but they wont go anywhere, someone will buy them hopefully sony or microsoft cause then the sports will all be cornered to one console
hopefully Nintendo buys them out so they can inject some quality into the games.
- Nintedo
- Quality
Choose one.
(not saying they didn't use to, but claiming that Nintendo is still at that level is wrong on multiple levels)
Anyway, I'd be happy with any company buying them that isn't Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft or Activision/Blizzard. After they are bought I can only hope that the entire company will be restructured and that the companies they have bought and ruined go back to making good games.
Nah, I can wrote articles about anything too:
It might be true, but there is nothing to base the statement on. As the article says just prior to that quote, They're the second largest VG company. Who sells success when its in their hands? Get out while you're ahead? Maybe.Quote:
Refusing to comment on rumor and speculation, EA is staying mum about a possible sale.
I do like the idea of The Elder Scrolls meets The Sims though.
Nintendo=Quality so i have no need to choose. nobody else (except maybe SEGA) can fix them. Activision-Blizzard is just as bad, if Sony or MSFT got their grubby mitts on EA it's be even worse. Bethesda could fix them up, but i'd like it better if SEGA, Nintendo or Atlus bought them out.
Actually they haven't been doing so hot lately. Their stock dropped quite a bit during the last month or so, and has only started to go up do to EA buying back their shares.

AGAIN. and even if that didn't happen we'd still get a crash if Sony and Nintendo released locked or dlc only consoles.
wall of text i know.
EA was worth $5.24 billion in 2010
Atlus is worth $34.4 million in 2010
Nintendo is worth $8.1 billion in 2012 (and falling)
Sega is worth 4.9 billion in 2011
So please tell me how Nintendo could save it? Do you see any of the big three allowing EA to publish games to other consoles? That's why Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo need to stay away. Because none of them care about making games for everyone to enjoy, they just care about making money for themselves and keeping the games on their consoles. That's what got EA into all this trouble is caring about the money before the product.
Nintendo used to never make a bad game ever, but now its easier to find their bad games then it is to find there good ones.
You ever hear of Microsoft Windows or about the other hundred things that Microsoft makes? They aren't going anywhere. Every buy a Sony TV or DVD/BluRay Player? They aren't going anywhere either.
By the way, look up the word Monopoly they are illegal.
So now the sports games will clutter first hand stores too? Hope Valve gets a good company to pick them up though.
Why would Valve need anyone to pick them up? They are doing great!
Valve was worth $3 billion in March, and growing. I seriously doubt they need anyone to "pick them up".
Releasing a console is far to expensive and risky. Did you know that even when the PS3 was $599 Sony took a loss selling them?
Nintendo is also loosing money on the Wii and 3DS.
Heck even Microsoft's Xbox division lost $229 million in April!
I just mean about distribution.
I was vague its ok.
Did they name it that cause "WII LOVE U", I hope thats what the ads have in them.
And that's the only reason they will win, is because they released early before everyone else. Hell look at the PS2 last gen, it was released first and was the #1 console. Same for the Wii and 3DS.
Now don't get me wrong, I love Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft equally (I'm mainly a PC gamer myself). But thinking that these companies are as good as they used to be is wrong. And fanboyism is one thing that is definitely killing the console industry because it doesn't force the companies to adapt, because they know people will always like their stuff.
Dreamcast came out before PS2 and is considered in the same generation.
Not saying it doesn't help to release it first but you also don't want to rush it.
My thoughts.
I love watching big, dumb things die.
for once i agree with GSB, nintendo is only failing console wise, their first party games are just as good as always
and i DO hope one of the big 3 buy EA so all the sports are on one console
I don't see all the EA hate, they're a pretty good publisher IMO. Of course they support some terrible crap like the online pass system. As well as having the horrible Origin service...
But the games with their name on are top notch, most of the time. No care about sports games though.
I for one hope EA aren't in financial trouble. :(
I apologize in advance for this long post. This is my opinion and you are free to criticize it.
I think Nintendo is on the wrong course in my opinion, they are still making quality games, but because they want to make a profit by making a cheaper system so more people can enjoy their games, they will always be behind in terms of hardware since the Wii (N64 and Gamecube had great graphics). The WiiU is going to be better hardware-wise than X360 and PS3, but it should not count for the next generation, since the next Xbox and PS4 are going to be way more powerful and come out a year to two years later. I think EA should review their past and figure out why they are losing sales, and fix those problems and help their customers so they can continue to be on their own, if another company buys them, some decisions will be made that will not make people happy. Activision also needs to stop being so money hungry, as I see them continuing to make bad decisions just because certain franchises or games didn't hit the profit margin they wanted, yet were still profitable (ex: MW3 and the Guitar Hero Franchise).
Try 1999, not 98. I don't know where you get your information, or how your logic in some of your posts can fail so miserably, but in truth you just sound like a butt-hurt Nintendo fanboy. It's OK to like one system or company better than another, but you seem totally blinded by Nintendo. You 12 or something??
And I agree with unnoticedninja. Read his post closely, nothing more needs to be said about the WiiU hardware.
Okay guys, why do we keep talking about Nintendo when they aren't mentioned anywhere in the article?
Besides, they're a very Japanese company, they have little interest in Western properties because they've had a bad history trying them (Ex: The Conduit).
He's 15
On topic, only games I own that were made by EA are Battlefield 3 and a few sports games. I rarely buy the sports games though. I don't own a Madden game, my newest NCAA football is 08, and i have NCAA march madness 2010 which i didnt even buy.
Also darkseid has a point. Nintendo is a japanese company, they appeal to those customers first and always will.
Well... can't say much... just hoping they're not really on bad shoes and this is just rumor...
Even because I love some titles like Burnout and The Sims :)
That article doesn't look really truthful to me........
i doubt this is true unless i really see some hard core proof or more confirmation that EA may actually go to be sold
honestly, we probaby wont even notice the change if it does happen, it will probably just be a stock purcase behind scenes etc...
