Hell no; not until a few hardware revisions and the price of the memory cards go down (or they come up with adapters that allow me to use cheaper ones). And maybe not even then, considering they're giving everybody not in Japan the middle finger when it comes to backwards compatibility with UMDs.
Well after hackers are done with it and they come up with a few games that I'm actually interested in I might waste a whole 80 bucks on it but until then. No, its not worth it.
Yeah I'm still getting into the PSP that I barely ever play. I was thinking that it would be cool if the Vita could handle Netflix though.
Edit: I guess it does. I don't think I really want one; but that is a good selling point.
I really wanted to get this one on day one, but I'm low on cash. I'm gonna wait until either a bunch of quality games are released for it, or it gets hacked. But man, I wish I could afford it right now, DO WANT!
I want to try and pick up a Vita with low firmware when I get the chance. Disgaea 3 Return is the only Vita game I know I will buy. I've heard Uncharted: Golden Abyss is much better than Uncharted 3, so I have mild interest in that. A Phantasy Star and Ys game would be enough to push me over the edge .
no psvita is compatible with psp umd'sQuote:

i'm getting one as soon as Gravity Rush is released :3 can't wait.
Over in Japan, they have a program in place where you can basically send your old UMDs to Sony, and they'll give you a discount on re-purchasing the title via digital distribution. They have publicly stated that they won't be doing that in North America.

What now?
You don't physically send Sony your UMDs.
http://andriasang.com/comyxo/Quote:
1. You download a software from PSN that allows you to register your UMD
2. In the menu of the app "UMD Registration", you insert the UMD you want to register into the PSP
3. Then you pay about X yen to allow the transfer it's simple as that
I've still got plenty of games to play on my DS Lite and PSP 3000, so it'll be a long time before I buy a Vita. Who needs the latest tech when there's so many good, cheaper alternatives?
Or you can just hack it and transfer your UMD dumps.
Ah. I never really bothered looking up the logistics of it, since I don't own, or plan on ever owning, a PSP or PSV. That was just the original plan I remember from when the PSP-Go came out and they were talking about a similar endeavour. The principles of the process are the same, though.
I got a 3DS instead. Poor choice? Only time will tell.
That's one of the reason's why i got the vita on day 1 is for the low firmware. i really wanna get Street Fighter X Tekken when that comes out
i hope currency here will be a bit shorten
i heard PSV cost USD249
while here in its cost let says Rp 4.400.000
yeah it has the same value but hell i wonder why it must have to be that long...
Got mine last saturday because the store I ordered from sent them out early by mistake, however they didn't send the memory card or games so all I can do right now is play Welcome Park or whatever. :fdance:
i got mine just today, what i dont like is if you make a mistake on startup (like your birthday) you cant change it once its all set up. anyone think its worth it to sell my psp and the games it took me so long to get for it and redownload them on the vita?
No, because that's both crazy and stupid.
But hey, what do I know; I'm just a crazy old gamer that likes physical copies of games.
I dont think its a good thing. i like to have cases to my games
I know, its so hard to read calm hate on the internet. Hard copies are the shit. Even if I do have digital copies of most my games its usually because hard copies of rarer games are hard to find. If digital copies would resolve the problem of finding rarer games though
I sometimes make my own boxart and case. :|
Looking at the price range in us dollar, it is probably worth around 750 in my country. That is a lot of money to spend for something like that.
So right now, I'm probably just sit and wait for another more years to come when PS Vita will worth way lesser than that today.
I'll Probably buy one eventually. I'll hold out until a game is too irresistible for me not to buy it.
being fairly new to the psp scene... only having picked up one for dirt cheap a year ago, i dont feel ive given that justice just yet... though a vita is tempting, im thinking ill also wait til something tickles my fancy before shelling out (hopefully less than the current price!)
vita? what is it?
No. Sony does not have access to some of the rarer games. Especially rare games that are actually good.
And no Final Fantasy VII is not one of the games worth redownloading a hundredth time. Most of the "Rare" games you'll get off of psn are emulatable. So no, its not worth it
Something you'll pay 350 dollars for and get bored with in a week.
Google is your friend :P

So... Has anyone purchased a vita yet I got mine on the 22nd with ninja gaiden sigma plus and i gotta say, now i remember why i never finished the game XD, the screen is beautiful its quite light and the analog sticks feel prety good (can't wait to play monster hunter in this one XD) but the UI imho is crap :/ . What do you (who bought it) think about the console?
I put my purchase off by several months; I want to have something to play when I get it :P.
I agree everything on the ps vita is really amazing i gotta say. it compared to psp with that flat analog stick and little bit of flaw on the dpad when i tried to play street fighter alpha 3 max...still was cool then :D.. im stuck with little deviants till tommarrow. i might get wipeout seems cool i would of got it with ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 but i had it already have it on xbox 360. im gonna have to say ps vita tops 3ds by far in my book :D
i am thinking of buying ps vita but it is very expensive, so before i buy it can someone tell me his experiences with ps vita (battery durability, graphics, gameplay, does it get boring after you play it few times....)
