Fastest Game Over

What Game do you think has the fastest "Game Over" Were talking from getting control to losing control so multi life games wouldn't work well. Also No Rom Hacks (SM Frustration for instance)

My timing is 0.70 Seconds and all I did was hold down at the start of the game

well TONS of games gameover way too fast. how about Space Harrier, you can get hit repeatedly at one rock and lose all of your 2 lives! GAME OVER!

let's not forget Dragon's Lair for the NES. hell even the SNES version is difficult. die twice and the whole game ends, on that note Contra's pretty rough too... damn old games and their extreme difficulty >_<

i'm playing Star Ocean 3 right now, you can gameover pretty quickly. especially on the stupid machine gun enemies, basically you keep getting blasted and can't move, so just sit back and watch you die in about 30 secs. lol.

I'm gonna go with either Battletoads on nes, or Super R-Type on snes.

You can game over before even gaining control in Super Paper Mario by refusing to help.

The fastest death I ever had was while attempting I Wanna be the Guy. I quickly gave up. Same for Super Meat Boy but at least it's fun!

can't find a video of it. But star evil, the second game of the action 52 multigame cart for the nes, you have to immediatly dodge out of the way as there is a object directly in your path that will kill you instantly :wacko:

Ok, so you go to an all-out fight against the true final boss with ALL OF YOUR characthers, each by each taking a part of the boss and then you go on an all-out battle of the main characther against the boss's final component...

and then you die in SECONDS :omigosh: and if you fail there you have do it ALL THE PREVIOUS BOSS BATTLES ALL OVER AGAIN

...

It was genuinely annoying, at least zone of the enders 2 didn't forced you to do that :whoo:

Cheat

The first Mario for NES. I tried to collect the first goomba cus my brother said to collect the mushrooms.

super mario bros deluxe for the nes as the thing is that i either have accidentally get killed by the monsters or bad timing and get my self drop to the pitfall of doom .....

Super Mario Bros. on NES. Everytime I start that game up, that first damn goomba gets me. Every. Time. Don't know why.

Fastest game over when I accident pressed maximum level on arcade Tetris and game over in less than 2 seconds.

The very first time I played resident evil. I was 9 and I don't know if I was shocked or didn't know what I was doing but the very first zombie got me.

harvest moon ds. when you attack the mayor with your axe and you miss, he tries to fight back but your dog helps you by jumping on him and killing him. he yelled help! but i said no.. and then the credits rolled :/ took about 2 seconds xD

I got to that part, absolutely loving the game up until that point, then the final battles, they were hard enough to get to the main character's battle, and then Game Over seconds later, another hour later of retrying and die at the exact same point... looked up the ending on youtube and shelved the game.



I would like to add chapter 11 from Final Fantasy XIII to this list, specifically the Adamant enemies, odds are you battled them just once to see what would happen, one footstep and 10k damage later you were effectively humbled.

they are what made me quit that game lol

We are talking "Game Over"'s here though mate not fastest game or we would be mentioning Wipeout and F-Zero :P

I think the fastest I have ever got a game over was in an old game called Lagoon. I took my butter knife of doom and tried to kill a monster and touched him dying instantly. I was obviously under leveled at that point in the dungeon because the game wants you to level a couple levels before leaving the first room.

I do believe my personal fastest game over ever was in an arcade on an old shooter game. Can't even remember what it was now, but I slotted in the money, tried to shoot a single bullet and got perforated. Total time on my euro (guilder at the time, but let's not go back to old values just now, shall we? :P): about 3 seconds. Price per hour by that mark: about 1200 euros. I gave up. :P

I was waiting for somebody to post Convoy no Nazo. This game has probably some of the worst examples of fake difficulty and poor balance ever seen in a famicom game. That, and I'm amazed Ultra Magnus can somehow die in one hit.

It was followed by the (slightly less crappy, but still awful) Transformers : The Headmasters for the Famicom Disc System, which is just as unfair as its predecessor.

My fastest gameover is the new dragons lair remake for the ds. I love it, but damn, that game's weird.
Also, I tried out Elite Beat agents and lost within 3 seconds if that counts.

Well...if guitar hero counts, about 14 seconds into Through the Fire and Flames on expert. Thats was ab a year ago, and im proud to say ive completed the song atleast 5 times since then :)

Mortal Kombat 2 SNES, Hard. Shang Tsung beaten by Baraka. I stoped playing MK for 3 months.

Snake from one of those games you could get from a dollar store =P i put it on 9 (hardest) difficulty the first time i ever played it and lost within a second XD but if i play it now i could probably own it with ease ;]

Both Mineral Town games. Harvest Moon DS and DS Cute have one, too. Just don't call off your dog when it attacks the mayor - instant game over. :angel:
