mount or burn
I believe that .mdf is an Alchol 120% extension. You need to get a virtual drive like D-tools (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/) and mount the .mdf file. You should then be able to play the game.
will i be able to use it as an iso or no?
What exactly do you mean? Are you talking about playing it in an emulator? If so, then yes, you'd just have to select it from the virtual drive as you would any other game (If I happen to be wrong on this, SegNin will likely give a more detailed and accurate explanation).
i want to extract the mdf files into iso if thats possible and run it on an emulator
mds/mdf is an image file just like an iso the only difference is it was made using alcohol 120%. so it should work on the emulator though if not mount it onto a virtual drive and use preferably imgburn and point it towards the virtual drive you mounted it to and get the iso like that might be a bit tedious but it works perfect that way
er the problem is now its in 7 parts and i cant put them together :/ lol
Do you have winrar? If not get it from here: www.rarlabs.com (don't worry, even though it says 40 day trial, the trial never ends). After that, right click the first part and select "extract here".
:ninjaedit: 7zip also works for uncompressing.
there not or the problem would be solved
its the persona 2 innocent sin one if that helps at all
ya i have winrar lol
PERSONA2IS.mdf is what it says
Use ISOBuster to create a .bin/.cue from the .mds/.mdf, by following this guide:
http://www.epforums.org/showthread.php?t=40611
Then start epsxe > File > Run ISO > choose the .bin file.
There is another more complicated way that will allow you to play .mds/.mdf files with ePSXe, but it's rather long, so if you're curious, download the attached .txt file for instructions on how to use Daemon Tools with ePSXe.
I made it a bin.
Now i start up epsxe and it says recompile block to large and it wont run. :/
xmaverickx: Get it converted back to MDF and mount the image in Alcohol 120% with the fake drive. Config ePSXe to use that drive in the CD-ROM menu and play.
What type of CD-ROM plug-in you're using?
moobys 2
Did you use File > Run ISO > then choose the .bin file?
Or did you try File > Run CDROM?
Should be Run ISO to load directly into ePSXe.
CDR Mooby v2.8 works the same as a virtual drive; it emulates a real CD drive so you can play ISO files as if they were real CD's.
If you load the game into Mooby's, then you should use instead File > Run CDROM to play the game.
So, to recap:
Use RUN ISO to load the game directly into ePSXe.
Use RUN CDROM to load a game that's a CD in your computer's CD drive, or if it's mounted to a virtual CD drive.
I'm having the same problem, with the same game, and you don't seem to understand what's happening.
The files are "PERSONA2IS.mdf.001", "PERSONA2IS.mdf.002", "PERSONA2IS.mdf.003", "PERSONA2IS.mdf.004", "PERSONA2IS.mdf.005", "PERSONA2IS.mdf.006", "PERSONA2IS.mdf.007". Notice the .00x extension on the end. I highly doubt the game was packaged as 7 disks with 50 MB worth of data on each, so there has to be a way to combine them into a single file.
Unless I just missed a post, but I don't see anywhere instructions to do this.
Tried it. Didn't work.
Try combining them with HJSplit:
http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/#win32
Then try playing the combined file.
Btw, did you also get the .mds file that should have come with the .mdf file?
