You need the bios files and a program such as dameon tools to mount the iso images
Are you talking about running emulators on a DC or playing DC games on a PC. I am going to assume the second one.
You can find Chankast and the BIOS here.
http://mirror.emuparadise.org/NR/
However Chankast doesn't emulate dc games very well and sometimes not at all :(
It does emulate a lot of games really well though.
only game that flowed on chankast was power stone for me the others had massive fps drops :/
Marvel vs Capcom 2 on Chankast works fine for me.
Chankast sucks with some games but not so much as any Saturn emulator sucks with any Saturn game. :P Ikaruga works fine too, except from a minor bug that will keep me from finishing the game. :D Anyhow, I've heard that there's going to be a new release of Chankast with upgraded performance.
I'm VERY impressed with the progress Chankast made over the short time that passed since it was made (compared to other emus)
about 75% of my DC games run at perfect speed. sound plays fine. they all have minor graphical glitches like clipping or some background layers missing but compared to Saturn emulation, that's alot! This is one emu worth looking out for.
I completely gave up on Saturn emulation :p It'll never be good, let alone decent
The only i reason I dont use chankast is because you cant play it in full screen...or can you?
yes in chankast 0.25 alpha in the options, config video, video mode select "full screen"
and yes like myst says about 90 % of my mamoth collection boots and about 75 % runs perfect
In Chankast 0.25 you most definitely can. Just enable Full Screen under Config > Video mode, if I remember correctly. The option is there in the menu somewhere, that's sure.Quote:

Other than that, it's great, but it's still a pity that these games (basically, 2 of the 3 games I'd want to play on Dreamcast) aren't emulated that well. Anyway, are there any games worth getting for DC? Games that are outstanding compared even to any game, not just simply good fighting games on DC.
There is a Shenmue 2 aswell on Dreamcast other games include Phantasy Star online version 2, Grandia 2, Skies of Arcadia and the two Evolution RPG's just off the top of my head, there are others aswell plus if you actually get a Dreamcast it can run a while host of emulators on it aswell.
P.S. Games are still being made for the Dreamcast over in Japan, the console is not as dead as people might think ;)
Ehh i think i was using the old chankast this whole time
Can someone tell me why Chankcast keeps telling me to "insert game disc" when I already have the image mounted and have changed the drive to direct to the image?

Oh well I guess it just doesn't play the game. The game I'm trying to run is Street Fighter III Double Impact.
You should just buy a real dreamcast. You can get one for like 20 bucksQuote:

well if you want try chankast, i just uploaded cosmic smash in the ysi links thread, only 40mb and it works very well on chankast.
Thanks a lot! I'll try that one. Maybe that'll work.
Okay, I've got Chankast alpha 0.2, from the site, and through google, "DAEMON tools". Now I need an iso to mount and instructions on how to mount it. Maybe someone has that marvel vs. capcom game?
If these are games that are usually traded, I don't have much. My first game system was the saturn, and I have that ahead nero program, so one or two of those games may be salvageable.
Sorry if I sound helpless, I just am.
I have Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and i can TRY to upload it today since today is my only day off but if not today then i will try to have it up by sundayQuote:

EDIT2: Well, chankast has a very idiot-friendly help menu, so I may only need the iso, not the sage advice.
LAST EDIT: Okay, I've got a game mounted, but where's the init option? Someone help...
Whay init option are you talking about? Hit Run > Start to run the game, or if you don't have anything mounted then you go to the BIOS, where you can format memcards and stuff.Quote:

Well, make sure you have the CD drive used in Chankast (Options > Config Drive) set to the same drive letter as the game is mounted in. Second, try using Daemon Tools 3.29, as it's more compatible with some images. If you can't even get to the BIOS screen, you obviously need a bios. :D Nothing more I can think of right now.
BIOS screen? That's the screen showing the note, controller, memory card, and clock, right?
Well, it doesn't matter. It works! Thanks so much.
In case you're wondering, I'd still like the iso, pirates. Thanks.
I am having the same problem you are . I am trying to get Skies of Arcadia to run and am using Daemon tools but it still will not work. If you find a solution to this problem please tell me.Quote:

Is it yet possible to get SA2 to work with chankast? I can get through to where the game starts with little more than sound glitches, but after that, nothing.
Other than a few stutters, it works fine for me. Just a little slow...Quote:

Maybe it's because it's cdi? I don't know...
Have you figured out how to use USENET? I prefer to only upload a game once ;)Quote:

Well, Unfortunately, I can't get the damn thing to accept me, I think it's my username/password. But I've figured out how to use nzd files. So I just need to figure out how to connect to the comcast newsgroups, and I'm fine.
Yep, I'll talk with you about it on msn some time today :).Quote:

Oddly, I just run it and it works :| I use the NTSC Cable type...other than that, I just mount and run...Quote:

oh and my SA2 has the echelon intro grafitti crapness (what are they thinking!!). Maybe it's that disturbing it? I thought games with echelon intro aren't supposed to run at all and crash at the sega logo but mine run past that all the way.
