In the game WF (warning forever, a freeware game) i would like an extra mode where you have infinate time and infinate lives. For purposes of screenshots and experimenting of course.

That's the installer. By default it installs in the "C:/WF/" directory.
The highest i got was level 14. Also anyone that DLs, this... It's a nice game. You all would like it. ;) TOO BLOODY ADDICTIVE!! ^^;;; isn't that the first level boss? ;)
I can't help you with disassembly, but I just gotta comment that Warning Forever ROCKS! I play it regularly. So far, I've achieved a top score of 14 and some million points (dunno what level that was).
Did you play it before i made the post? (i'm a bit curious if i'm the only one that found it or not. lol)
Browse around on Home of the Underdogs, you'll find many games as excellent as this one. Try rRootage, Torus Trooper, ax7pg, Tumiki Fighter, and some other weird named shooters I can't think of right now.
And... do you play the english translated version of Warning Forever? I think there's a mention of an invulnerability mode in that one for testing purposes.
this is a good game, and i accept your challenge. you can't by chance give me the sys. requirements for it, as i may put this to a disk and take it to my other comp and work on it there.

i could decompile it, but it would just give me binary data, which is useless
what you are actually asking me to do is edit the .exe file to your liking, which can't be done. i could hack in the exe file and change something like the menu that first comes up. i could rearrange some of the buttons, text, etc. but that's i useless as well. if you can get me the source code, then i would be glad to help

Version 6 is English/Japanese. Accept for the PPF patches it's the only english version. And i thought dissassembly was about taking an already made program (including programs for video game systems like playstation for example) and editing them that way.
Plus, if i could get my hands on the source code, i'd be changing it myself, not asking for some one else to do it. All i know about the source code is that it's C but that dosn't exactly help in this situation... I myself would like to know how he made this game. Even worse of a problem is the fact that if i ever do manage to get the source code from him, everything's gonna be in japanese. (then again, considering the C stuff like the int main should still be in english that shouldn't be a problem. The main one would be reading his variables and comments.)
I don't think they'd do a pre-compiler thingy just to change those characters into normal ones. In most programming languages, variable names have to meet certain standards, meaning english characters. So, unless the guy is intent on giving himself and anyone else reading the comments a hard time, he'd do it in English.
disassemble = decompile = either way not possible with source code... the only thing that can be done is change the windows that pop up before you start the game
Guess that means it'd be up to me some day to create somthing that could resource somthing. Basically make read a program by executing it fully or somthing like that and putting it back to a source code. Considering a computer can read a program there has to be a way to make a program that would add values to log the programed calculations.

Though I can't say this with any certainty, it should be possible to write a trainer for the game. Perhaps Zorlon may be able to help you there, as he wrote up a pretty killer trainer for Rondo of Blood on the PC Engine. ;)
i believe jonez could make one if he is up to it (as in if he feels like it) he has made scripts before, hasn't he? i actually can't make scripts from scratch myself
Hm, why do you always end up mentioning me if I have haven't yet taken part in a conversation about computers/coding?
The only barrier is to know the address of memory where the lives count is saved. Or if one knew what bytes in the file handle decreasing the lives count, you just needed to overwrite that part with a hex editor.
Uhh... sorry to put it this way, Jonez. But there are NO lives in normal mode, only a countdown. You failed, miserably, you pathetic excuse for a hacker, you. :P
