Couldn't care less
I couldn't have thought of anything better then sitting at home, and only having to do one or 2 things everyday. Clean, cook, and iron. Shit, I could get used to that. And what with dishwashers and all that bullshit, you could make your job heaps easier. But whatever floats your boat I suppose. If you wanna work, thats your own decision, I really couldn't care any more about feminism even if you paid me 2 million bucks. 3 Million, and maybe we have a deal...:P
Feminism doesn't=Anti-men. Case closed.
feminists aren't only women and they don't only fight for the right to work...some also fight for the right not to work. Feminism is not the opposite of chauvinism, it's the opposite of patriarchy.
I'm not about to pay you a cent for your care, so don't worry about that:P atleast you cared to say you don't care;)
INCOMING ARGUMENT ABOUT FEMINISM! DANGER!
...Yeah, I'll post here when I get back from school. Quick reply? Get back in the kitchen and make me a sandwich, bitch.
Feminism is probably the hardest word to define in the whole world.
The End.
Just don't expect special treatment from anybody.Quote:

Plenty of so called 'feminists' around (women, if you please..) who think so, so you can't say that they dont represent the feminist movement, since they do call themselves feminists.Quote:

feminism Audio pronunciation of "feminism" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (fm-nzm)

1. Belief in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes.
2. The movement organized around this belief.
Yeah, that's one tricky definition. Oh, wait...
Hasnt this thread been done?
oh wait yes , yes it has it was done by Jace -_- i still have the PM's to prove it to
im all for it really if they wanna be like guys then good one them lets see then play cricket
They're wrong in calling themselves feminists. A misandrist may be a feminist, but not because s/he hates men. Feminism is not about hating men or trying to advocate matriarchy, which is what most of the posts in this thread are implying. It's about bringing an end to patriarchy and bringing about equality.Quote:

If I'm a feminist I wouldn't mind making a sandwich for Skinner...even if he called me a bitch, but yeah, that wouldn't stop me from adding my extra-special ingredient to it;)
Only women are not feminists. You have women who are patriarchial as well, that doesn't mean patriarchy becomes a woman's ideology or a problem. It's simply subscribing to an ideology, one's adherence to feminism is not determined by sex. There's a difference between sex and gender. Sex is biological and gender social. Just because I'm female shouldn't directly imply I'm feminist. And just because I too can make a sexist joke or laugh at one, doesn't and shouldn't mean that I'm not a feminist.
When it comes to work...women are not allowed to work in fields that are dangerous like mining, etc. I don't have a problem with the kind law advocaters who were thinking of the safety of women. This might seem ok on the cover. But it is patriarchial. What if a woman wants to mine? What if a man who's scared of the dark or is claustrophobic doesn't? Does it have provisions for these needs? Why is that a man who goes on paternity leave is a sissy and a woman's maternity leave is called "disability leave"?
Just as terrorists misrepresent religious groups such as Muslims, "men-haters" (for lack of a better word) misrepresent feminists. Men-haters are not the majority, they're just a vocal minority that uses feminism as a shield to say whatever they want about men.Quote:

However, there are many places where women don't have basic equality to men. For example, there's no reason why women shouldn't be earning an identical amount of money as men for doing the exact same work. They don't though, they earn about 3/4ths as much (U.S. figure). It's issues like those that don't sit well with me and thus make me a feminist.
I sit next to someone in class that is a man hater. She is a friend of mine but hates most males. She really like it when she learned the root word male meant evil. It isn't pronounced the same as male as in a man.
I am to for equality for like pay and such, but you can't have TOTAL equality. As they say total equality would be no division or separation of sexes. This would lead to gay rights, which I am against, and unisex bathrooms since separating us would be evil.
If one gender had to be superior to the other, rule the world and what not, I'd rather it be female. Equality is good enough, I guess.
I feel you on that. Then tell them they aren't equal to men because they can't bench press as much as a man. Then point out what happened in the movie G.I. Jane could never really happen. Good thinking slim.Quote:

Men and Women are not equal, they're different...but it's important to celebrate these differences and not use them to breed inequality in gender (which is the social classification of sex).
Skinner, it's flattering to know that you would want to be ruled by females (:P) But that's not what feminists seek to do...I don't prescribe to the view that simply because vocabulary has always been gendered and biased that we like idiots now start referring to everything as a "she" and not a "he". One of my friends, whose a radical-feminist says that we should refer to everything as female because words like "woman", "she", "female" all include the names for their male counterparts, like the man in woman, etc. Which I think is inane...but anyway, we all live in a deep rooted patriarchial setup that we need to question. And we don't have to be female to do that.
They make good sandwiches.Quote:

I have many reasons to support it but don't have time to go over them in detail...
Sorry the post I am refering above is by Knowitman and not my MasJ
(for those who are picky)
OMG I am late...see ya guys...
I can't really fully explain my thoughts on this situation properly... but I don't like the current state of things. I'd like to think that everything is sort of transparent.... that you as a person determine your value, whether it be skills determining your salary or whatever. I'd prefer to think that there is no such thing as sexism or racism.... but it's there. I'd hate to think I've been given any advantage/disadvantage simply based on the color of my skin or my gender. Unfortunately, though I recognize it's there, there are those who misrepresent such worthy movements, and people like them can hinder any movements progress. I can't fully support something when it would be supporting the kind of people in the world I have the most disgust for. Which is terrible.... there are only a few, compared to the number that actually deserve. I do the only thing I can do, base my judgements of a person on the actual person, and it's a travesty that there are people who base their judgements simply off race or gender.
As for the radical types..... sorry. I have no compassion for you. Seek equality, not separation or dominance. Be reasonable, not radical.
The only thing that bothers me is when people say that the genders are the same except for physical differences, and that it's OMG SEXIST if you disagree.
Heh...I believe in equal rights for both men and women. But in all truthfullness men and women differ in more ways than just physically...
Ugh, I hate that kind of bullshit. It only makes sense for languages to not give gender to things which don't have it...Saying his/her he/she get's pretty damn old after awhile....Quote:

Last I heard, feminists were all man-haters... At least that's what I've seen on TV all my life... Well, you learn something new everyday, don'tcha...?
Of course, I do believe in equal rights and responsabilities for men and women, so if any of those exceeds this basic premise, I'm thoroughly against it, wether it be the archetypical "Make me a sandwich, bitch!" or the cordial "All men are pigs!"...
Keep the change...
I'm with this man. While I'm all for equality and unity and all that gay shit, feminists need to stop hating the pen0r. I have one, and because of that, I am immediately a pig or a chauvin... I can't spell it. That needs to stop. But once you hit equality, you lose any right you have ever had. Such as excuses due to pregnancy. Nope. You are now equal to MEN.Quote:

Should be renamed 'equalism' and that might clear up some confused bitches on the matter.
edit: and come to think of it I never heard of feminism arguing to have less men or more women on the batlefields shooting people and being shot.
I say you take your good with your bad, and if your not prepared to then shut the fuck up.
I see someone remembered me. lol Hey I can prove that feminism hurt society more which I gave enough points if people look at my history.
Also here is a feminists worst nightmare which this woman seems to have the abilities of feminists but goes against them with just cause http://www.eagleforum.org/
And her book that explains it http://www.eagleforum.org/order/book....html#feminist

The Weekly Standard: "Phyllis Schlafly confronts the left-wing assaults on women and families with arguments built from logic, statistics, and wit."
Logic and statistics by people that know the issue:o People are told that smoking is bad but people still do it. People are told stealing and lieing is bad but poeple still do it. Lets not say that something bad is good becasue as we see many belieive it. :(
Hey the information is out their but I guess people do not want to hear it since they do not want to hear the truth.
here is another one for watcher. ;)

Seriously, I think its time women get to be 11B (infantry). Especially the one's that always bitch and moan about not getting equal treatment. I'm all for equal treatment, if you take the bad with the good.
I don't know about entering women into the draft.... there are serious complications with that. While I would like equal treatment, it is clear in general that there are differences between the sexes. Not only do I think that on average a man would make a better infantrymen than a woman, I would also think it's easier for men to be desensitised to the acts they are needed to perform in war. I'm not saying that women can't do it... but in a draft, you aren't exactly picking the most willing of the bunch. The differences in the sexes shouldn't be used for exploitation one way or the other, but they should noted and duly compensated for when the situation merits it.
i totally agree with smith.
unfortunately for me,the only feminists i have seen have been the radical ones.well some what radical.
"i'll never marry...all men are jerks."
"so you'll marry a woman?"
"i dunno....is that allowed in india?"
Its not as though men shouldn't stand up and support woman's rights y'know.....Quote:

Actually there's a number of benefits as well. Men are more likely to be protective of their troupe if females are a part of it, enemies will have a harder time attacking if they know females are among the people they'll be attacking, etc. It works both ways.Quote:

Thanks I wanted to pay more taxes for silly things. NOT
Other complaints by extreme feminists lol
History =(his) story some women say it should be Ourstory or Herstory LOL
Changing the bible from the word man to person
Against the phrase man kind but want human kind
Hysterical women complain about this too for some odd reason if u use it on them lol
In other words insecurity makes them do irrational thing and not be humble.
Another note-----------------
Feminist are weak since they get a little power and they no not do what is right but feel that they have the power to be as bad as the others now. I guess they didn't hear the saying that power corrupts.
Women can be independent and have equal opportunity but to say 2 different organisms are equal is goes against logic. Like some psychiatrists say some feminists have penis envy. Women can be fighter fighters, but if they can not lift the same as a guy she should be one since you have to carry people off the building. Hey I am all for women playing football if they can and if they think they cant stand on their own and not get stomped then ok. If they want true equality they should not have womens sports and they should try our for the regular sports, so why have womens boxing since they want equality they can go take on Mike Tyson. Even the wrestler China lost to the mechanic Badafuko.
If feminist want equality they should hold the door for men the time, and would not mind if the guy is the stay home dad. Its like many want everything the man has and the same extra benefits the women of yesterday, which that is not equal.
Well that book that I mentioned is written by a woman that seems to be like a feminist since she is independent but uses the feminist movement against them in so many ways. People should read the book or find it online to get more info. This argument that feminism is beneficial has been shown that it is not true.
Things are a slippery slope and one bad thing leads to another, which many do not know the future consequences and fight for the cause but to not see the affect.
