Screenshot, running slow as hell but hey, it's a pretty damn good start! :D
Do you need a flashcart in order to emulate the SNES?
Nah. You can use VBA. But it's much slower using VBA than on a flashcart. But it's slow on flashcarts as well. :P
I see. I might invest money on a flashcart someday. But the damn things are so expensive. How much did yours cost? :P
I got mine for about 160 USD. Today I can buy one for 125 USD. And it's a rather awesome one I say. ;)
Yeah, but the flashcart's prices r sold on how much memory u want on it...
haha thats really cool :DQuote:

But after a while, all the games you buy cost more then the flashcart. :]Quote:

Yeah well I have a 256 Mbit now. And that's the one I was talking about earlier.Quote:

I got the 512 MBit flash cartridge before they got taken away. Is it still possible to even get the 512 MBit cartridges any more?
You can get 1gig carts now :D
Yes 512's are still available
You can now get an updated dat file from the above address. It will make some games work better.
Hmm... Is this a novelty of sorts? :P
Doesn't the resolution affect the game? Is it squished? Scaled? Something else? :S
How do they do it. The SNES actually has a faster processor and stuff. It also uses a higher resolution and uses 2 more buttons. How is it possible?
Oh the wonders of modern technology.. :D
It's not at all faster. I believe the GBA is about 4-5 times faster than the SNES. But the SNES has a seperate cpu for sound and that's the problem here.. And the button problem has been solved as well so don't worry about that.Quote:

New screenshot; Demon's Crest. Works great with only minor gfx errors. Oh and I tried Super R-Type yesterday. Believe me when I say that it runs perfect. Full-speed ahead. :]
This is pretty cool as well. I got Lufia II up and running. :] I'm very excited about this. :D
Demon's Crest works alright, but it's still very slow.Quote:

And Super R-Type, while running quite nicely, isn't running perfect by any means. It's very good though.
So far this emulator is really impressing me. :)
Oh I thought R-Type was running perfect. Guess I was wrong. :P And yeah it's impressive indeed! Can't wait till the next version. :]Quote:

Yeah, I'm sure given the quality of his previous projects, this will only get more and more impressive with each new release. I'm amazed that the thing's running this well right outta the gate. :)Quote:

Exactly. It's very suprising. One day, maybe he will even be able to squeeze in sound support. Doubt that, but maybe. :PQuote:

Oh and I wonder what FluBBa can do with the source code once that is released. He made some heavy changes with PocketNES afterall. :]
I really doubt they'll get sound support in, unless they can figure out a way to get it running without sacrificing speed. But y'never know. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
Yup. I saw someone suggestion that maybe if you use two GBA's use can boot the 2nd GBA and use that for audio. And in theory, that should work. :P
But yeah, we'll have to wait and see. :]
It may work, but it'd be incredibly stupid. It's just too impractical to be worth trying. I guess if they can get the emu working alright, and they wanna mess around, then it may be cool to see something using two GBA's, but for now it just seems silly to even bother. I'd rather go without sound then either having it effect the speed, or having to use two GBA's to get it working, quite honestly.
Agreed. Portable is portable. People want a portable SNES emulator. NOthing else.
Exactly. And I bet people would be willing to sacrifice sound if it came down to getting a better overall emulator out of it. :)
Of course. Speed and compatibility is prority. :] As soon as you can play Super Metroid, I will be happy. :P
I wonder if they're going to have sprite scaling, or if that's going to cause problems with the emulator.Quote:

I think they will add that eventually. I don't see why they wouldn't? :P But of course, it could perhaps as you said, cause problems.Quote:

you said they fixed the issue with having less buttons. I was just wondering how?
Combinations of course. :]Quote:

graphically speaking, i've heard that the gba actually has the same modes as the snes (except for mode 7) plus some extras. this could be BS, but if true, should make the emu writes job much easier (they only have to emulate mode 7, the cpu and the sound, not all of the gfx)
