ePSXe can go at 150fps if you don't cap it.
EDITED BY CYBER: You know why Vanti. :P
Ok... so for all we know you could have a Pentium 1 computer... details please, system specs - we are not psycic.
shouldnt this be in the emu section???
if you do choose to use ePSXe, use the following plugins:
For Video: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.63
For Sound: Pete's DSound Audio Driver 1.15
For Cdrom: ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2
Those plugins work for my computer, at least. Dont forget to config them to your computers speed.
The FASTEST emu is VGS. It doesn't run ISOs, but that is what Daemons Tools is for. It also does no graphics improvements. It runs everything in the orignal PSX resolution.
thx for all the help, but i need a BIOS plugin too, i think. I dont have one of those. And i havent yet seen an emu that comes with one.
You can get a BIOS from our BIOS files section, go to Emulation Extras (on the left) from the main www.emuparadise.org page.
It wasn't until I moved it for you this morning - you had posted it in the trading forum.Quote:
And bolton, this is the emu section
Emulators do not come with BIOS files included... get the BIOS files from the frontpage that no one seems to know exists (it seems)

Edit: MasJ beat me to it by 1 min ;)
For future reference:
Try various emulators, some games may not work in a particular emulator, but might work in another one...
I use ePSXe and PSXeven... Don't like VGS...
Yeah, well. It all depends on his computer, but as Ru said...it's best to just play around with everything available and see what suits you the best.
For instance, I happen to favor VGS over the two that Ru use, and believe that aside from the fact that it offers no real graphical enhancments, that it plays games alot more consistantly then emulators such as ePSXe. To me, compatibility is more important then fancy-dancy grahicical enhancments, that's the way to go. However, you may feel differently, and so may want ePSXe. Again, try 'em all and find out just what you like in each of them....
vgs is, however, starting to get a little old, so if epsxe continues to get updated it may overtake even vgs in terms of compatibility. some people say that it already has, but i don't know cuz i haven't tried vgs cuz i think it's commercial.
It was commercial, though to the best of my knowledge (and please correct me if I'm wrong here...) it was abandoned and is no longer in development?Quote:

I believe that's the case. But y'know? To this day EVERY game I've tried has worked through VGS, whereas I still have issues with certain games through ePSXe. Now, I'm sure that one day VGS will fail to run something I try to play on it.. I'm also sure that perhaps someday ePSXe will totally make using VGS pointless to me, as it is indeed still being worked on whereas VGS isn't. But untill one of those scenario's comes to play itself out, I'm perfectly fine using my compatibility-minded VGS emulator, and I'll leave all the fancy graphical-enhancments to those who place importance in that sort of thing.
I don't use ePSXe just because of the graphical enhancements... Actually, I really don't care about that... :D
I just happened to try ePSXe a long time before I tried VGS and after spending much time with it, I feel comfortable enough not to look elsewhere...
Oh! And for some reason, my copy of VGS had a somewhat blurry image and not-so-great sound... The overall quality of the image/sound on ePSXe was a bit better for me, enhancements aside... Maybe that's just my case, but... Oh, well...
As far as compatibility goes, well... PSXeven plays those games which ePSXe hasn't in the past... I rarely use PSXeven, but I've had it there for quite some time... It works, and that's enough for me... ;)
Maybe I'll try VGS again sometime... Check if I can get that ugly first impression outta my head... :)
That's weird, Ru, the sound was the one thing for which I preferred VGS :P For some reason no matter how much tinkering I did with epsxe I could never quite get the sound right :P
Yeah, took me a while and LOTS of pug-ins before I could settle with Eternal SPU... :P
That 's probably the one most annoying feature on ePSXe... You're on your own when you start using it... :(
Well, that, and the fact that you have to close the damn thing everytime you want to load a new game... :D
Thanks All of You!
I finally got epsxe, and now i have it working! Thanks!
Ah! You're welcome, ePSXe brother... ;)
o great... I got the emulator, but i dont have any isos...
Let's see... what do I want...
Crash Bandicoot: Warped....Tomba! 2...
Yah...
If anyone can get those for me, I'll uh...be...uh...I'll make my picture smaller lol!
Just tell me where I can get 'em
for games like those, try suprnova.tk, although the site isn't working that well right now.
I'm pretty sure that's a Warez site. You better remove it if it is.
but does anyone have Tomba! 2? I got Crash 3, but I need Tomba 2.
I have a Bit Torrent client now too, so if any1 can find a Tomba! 2 ISO please post location.
I use Connectix VGS with all the patches from aldostools.com.
Runs very well for me.
