Is the Joe Satriani cd good?? I like Satriani. he's good
I got Manic Street Preachers - Everything Must Go off a friend who hated it... And it's not so bad.
I bought Stone Temple Pilots - Core at the weekend.
I've been meaning to get around to buying a STP album for quite a long time now, and I'm quite impressed by how good this sounds.
Has no one purchased St. Anger yet? I have not. So I do not waste my money, I will allow my father to buy it first and if it is good I will then buy my first true, studio-recorded Metallica album since the black album.
I think I am going to buy the ministry dvd. My friend has it and it is killer. Yeah, I know this is what cds you bought thread but I figured this counts because they also released a cd with the same recording of the same songs on it. I just think the dvd is cooler.
I'd buy more CDs if the music I listened to (VGM) wasn't so horrendously rare and expensive...
Hmm... the last CD I bought was "No!" by They Might Be Giants.
@MoG - Yeah, it's really cool, but I prefer Surfing With The Alien...
And Magus, I bought St Anger on Monday, there's 5 tracks that I really like, but the rest bore me, it really needs a ballad and a solo or two...
Damn, I haven't listened to Ministry in what seems like ages. I discovered them at the same time I discovered Metallica but only one of the two persevered in my CD collection. I'm sure you can guess which one.Quote:

Surfing with the Alien is his best work. I like Engines of Creation though. Satriani is awesome but some of his songs sound like porno music.Quote:

One of the biggest hauls ever today...
Apocalyptica - Reflections
King's X - Ear Candy
King Crimson - In Te Court Of The Crimson King
Pain Of Salvation - The Perfect Element
Devin Townsend - Terria
Kansas - Leftoverture
Marillion - Misplaced Childhood
Rush - Permanent Waves
Joe Satriani - Surfing With The Alien
Judas Priest - Screaming For Vengeance
Marillion - Script For A Jester's Tear
Also this Opeth shirt, Iron Maiden shirt, and One Minute Silence Shirt...
I bought it last Friday. It's not bad, but it takes a lot of listening before you get into it. It's kind of odd at first, because they've tuned their guitars down to 'C', and Lars appears to be playing on a homemade set on pots and pans. Not a bad album when you get into it though, my favourite tracks are 'St. Anger', 'Dirty Window' and 'Sweet Amber'.Quote:

I just bought King Crimson's In the Court of the Crimson King a few weeks ago. Great album. I have left it in my car CD player ever since.Quote:

Is anyone a Yardbirds fan? If so, the band just released Birdland last month and I can't recommend it enough! The old and the new tracks blend well together and the album features guitar work by Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Slash (among others). Only Jim McCarthy and Chris Dreja of the original band perform but they keep everything authentic. I'm sure Clapton is somewhere smiling. (: It is a treat...
about 3 of those are thanks to me....Quote:

I know the thread says CD purchases, but I presume any format is acceptable.
Yesterday I bought Nirvana - Nirvana on double LP. Only cost 12 which was nice. It has Something in the Way unplugged on, which the CD does not have.

Any album which has a reference to 1984 as the opening track's title is obviously on my shopping list...
Did you get the limited edition dealie, Johnny?
Indeed I did get the limited edition, and I have buyer's remorse, it wasn't really that special, it just screwed up my organisation of the collection. The music is good though, kind of a mix of their prog stage and their post rock stage...
I picked up the new metallica album "St. Anger" (with the special DVD)
Im only on the second track, but so far everything sounds great...
Track 3 is the best. Tracks 1 through 4 and 10 are all the good ones I think...
I picked up these today -
Dream Theater - Change of seasons
Radiohead - Kid A
ACOS, yeah! The most kickarse song (other than ACOS itself ofcourse) is The Big Medley, Pink Floyd, Kansas, Queen, Genesis, Dixie Dregs...Quote:

Who would of thought, i found it in the huge sale section for a measley 4.99!
I bought Offspring - Smash today. I had it on copy already, but it's always nce to get the proper one, it's one of my fave albums, and was only a fiver :)
Double post, but far apart in time.
I bought Weezer - The Green Album in town today, it has some of my favorite Weezer tunes on.
The Green Album was the only album I ever downloaded and burnt, I felt so awful afterwards, I bought the real one straight away. I love the opening of the bassline in Island In The Sun, but I don't care for that song...
Katatonia - Viva Emptiness
King Crimson - In The Wake Of Poseidon (Remastered)
Radiohead - Hail to The Thief
The new Katatonia ownz guys. I think everyone should check it out. And my aunt bought 'Hail to the Thief' about five weeks ago so I listened to it with her while on vacation. ****ing amazing album, but I still kinda like Kid A and The Bends more.
Sticks And Stones - New Found Glory
The Young And The Hopeless - Good Charlotte
cradle of filth - damnation and a day
.....I dont have much money so I cant buy much albums....
While I was visiting my grandparents, I got the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack and Toxicity by System of a Down. Then a couple days ago I got Finger Eleven (Self-titled) and System of a Down (Self-titled).
I was on a university visit to cambridge with school and bought Rage Against the Machine - RATM and The Art of Drowning - AFI
I bought today
Weezer - Maladroit
The Thrills - So Much for the City
I'm not enjoying So Much for the City as I thought I would...
Today I got Transform, by Powerman 5000. I want to get Mega Kung Fu Radio, but I can't find it anywhere.:(
Forgot a 0.-_-
Latest haul...
Opeth - Orchid
Katatonia - Tonight's Decision
Strapping Young Lad - City
Yes - Astral Traveller
Marillion - Anaraknophobia
Pink Floyd - The Final Cut...
Given them all a quick listen, this is the order so far...
1. Equal Orchid and City
2. Tonight's Decision
3. The Final Cut and Anaraknophobia
4. Astral Traveller. Shame on you Yes...
I guess this counts, a little later today I'll be purchasing Metallica's 'S&M' DVD, and/or '... And Justice For All.'
