ok, i have Marvel vs Capcom 2, and Chankast, & the BIOS...how do i get it to work?
You should use a program like Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools (since it's free and reliable) to create a virtual drive, and mount the .cdi file to it. Once that's done, assuming you have everything set up (as in choosing which drive to look at for the mounted game), you should be good to go. Depending on your PC's specs also.
where is all of that stuff at?
You probably want this version of Daemon Tools. You already said you have the game, emulator, and bios. So all you need to do is set up the virtual drive using DT.
oh, i got: Daemon Tools v4.08 X86 32 Bits (with SPTD 1.39)
a little lost....:?
so what do i do next?
ok, so i right clicked on the icon, and it says:
virtual cd/dvd-rom
Device 0: [f: ] no media [>](arrow tab thing) mount images & set devise parameters
unmount all drives
set number of devices [>] 4,3,2,1,disable
Emulation
safedisk
securom
laserlock
RMPS
all options on
all options off
options
secure mode(on)
automount(on)
InUse check
AutoStart(on)
Tray icon(on)
help
so what do i do next?
what do i do after that?(could you walk me through it...)
After that, you launch Chankast. Look through the settings and such. Make sure you point to the right (virtual) drive that has the mounted game. If you don't know which one that is, open up My Computer and take a look at which drive has your game mounted. After that, you may want to configure your control pad, assuming you have one. I may be missing a few things here because I don't have Chankast on this PC at the moment, I'm just going off my memory.
WOW never mind i got it...but now it says"i need a memery card"...were do i get that at???
That's uh, a good question. One I can't really answer. Because....I never created one myself. See, I've had issues with Chankast running way too fast to actually enjoy using the emulator. So, I never got that much time with it. Only attempting to trouble shoot certain things. I think Segnin, Cookie or Sprung would most likely be able to pick up where I left off here. I'm really sorry I'm not able to continue to assist you further. :|
Do people ever rad FAQ's and Tutorials these days?

Q: I can't save my progress on any game. It says that there is no memory card or that the memory card does not have enough free blocks even though it's full. Why?
A: You have to create a memory card from the plugins configuration of the emulator; then run the emulator without a CD in the (virtual) drive and from the options screen that will show up choose the memory card icon and then choose the memory card and format it (fully erase it).
Thanks alot Darth. I needed that also.
Just a small note, for Dreamcast emulation the recommended version of Daemon Tools is 3.29.
I don't do DC emulation so I don't know the details myself, but I've read the newer versions don't work for some people.
Meh, i'm not Liking the emu, nor the game.i'll just try and find the ps2 one
The PS2 version is virtually the same thing as the DC version. What didn't you like about the DC emulator? If it's because it didn't run very well...well, don't expect the PS2 emulator to run well either. It needs a more powerful PC than the Chankast does.
i didn't like how the emu was set up.
yeah, i already did, i didn't like the way it was set up. all i need is:upset: MARVEL VS CAPCOM 2!.... for the PS2, then i can give it to my friend..
well, he did just get it, and paid big money for it, not to mention he has a ps2 emu, and several games that run :D
we just can't find MvC2 for it...so could someone upload it, so i can download it?
i'll take this one too. my friend, gave my friend the ps2 game disk, and my friend is trying to burn it off the disk.we played it, but it was too slow, but my friend said all he needs to do is to play with the settings a little, and it should work, but until then and or as a back up plan, i'll use the DC one.
edit--
does Chankast have a gameshark option?
There is, sort of.
It's called Game Buster, and it comes with Chankast Utilities which you can download from here:
http://chankast.1emulation.com/
But I don't know how well Game Buster works since I can't run Chankast on my comp.
how do you save and load, i'm hitting write VMS BIN, then i hit import saves, then what? i can't find it???how do you properly save, and load ?
I uploaded Marvel vs Capcom 2 for PS2 in the Trading Post like weeks ago. Links still work. Just download from there.
You set Chankast to read that memory card VMS.BIN, then you save/load through the games not Chankast.
Or buy a Dreamcast and play the backup directly on the machine it was intended for
PS2 emulation is just not worth it at this stage no matter how powerfull a PC you may own, moding your PS2 is the only option (including swop methods), emulation will still not play fast enough to get good game play.
Dreamcast emulation is not perfect either but will run alot of games at full speed with very few bugs or even perfect in some cases
Buying an old 2nd hand Dreamcast though can play backups without modding
US Dreamcasts (NTSC/U) must be made at or before October 2000
EU Dreamcasts (PAL/E) all version can play backups
The Daemon tools thing is that other versions, older and newer will not play all the CD's correctly with Chankast, usually preventing booting, other things that take into account is your own hardware and OS though aswell, basicly the recomended version is the most compatable with the various hardware/OS mixes
You set Chankast to read that memory card VMS.BIN, then you save/load through the games not Chankast.
ok i'll try that

:unhappy:
well, that didn't help, this is how i did it.
i went to the emu, without the game loaded, went to the files(memory card section thing (game, file, music, clock)), deleted both files, and created new ones, & now i can save, & load.
Please, don't double post, use the EDIT button to add whatever info you feel like adding to your previous post.
And if you want to request a game, this is not the right place to do it, go to the Trading Post forum.
ok  , i'm not asking for a trade, snkupo posted a link to this game, on the trading post, but the links broken :upset:

I know you are not asking for a trade, but the Trading Post is where all the games requests go, many people fulfills the requests for free, no trading involved ;)
most people said it won't emulate,so no one gave me the rom...
;_;
oh dear Lord i went to Google & did a search. All but 5 seconds to find this.
The DC version is awesome, take a look at the settings they posted.
i have the DC one, i'm looking for the ps2 one...if thats what you were trying to saying..
I'm gonna lock this thread since this has nothing to do with the original purpose when it was opened.
If anyone has the PS2 version for this game and is willing to upload it, PM lizard or post here:
