So yeah, is there a really popular game that everyone seems to think very highly of, but you just can't seem to get into it/don't get what all the fuss is about? Post 'em up here, and tell us why.

Gears of War:
I didn't like the first one and never bothered with the others, which is strange because I usually like shooters.
Darksiders:
Played the first one for a few hours and then thought "why am I playing this?".
Never touched it again, and just traded it in the other day.
I can't give any exact reasons why I don't like these games, I just played them for a bit and lost interest very quickly.
Final Fantasy XIII is another one that people really like, and I don't. But there are quite a few people that don't like it so I dunno if it's relevant in this thread.
I'm pretty sure the majority of people dislike FFXIII. It seems to be one of the most controversial FF games.
Oh, yeah. For me it's Fallout 3, GTA4 and Borderlands, because they're boring, boring and boring.
Super Mario and Zelda both were the first games that were popular that bother me for whatever reason.
The first popular game at the arcade that bothered me was Mortal Combat. Why? I dunno.
I found myself surprised that I didn't like Gears. I picked up 1&2 without even playing them. Eventually I dropped 1 in, and hated having to cover fricking everywhere. I got annoyed with doing that, and attempted to play like I would any other game, and the first level on the easiest setting was unplayable.
I didn't like Fallout 3 and Oblivion, I dunno why, they just feel wrong. My biggest problem seemed to be that annoying inventory weight management system, which is hardly bad enough to dislike a game over. I still have Morrowind and Skyrim sitting around unplayed. I really want to like them, but I'm afraid if I try them I won't care for them, so it seems better to leave them unplayed...
Mass Effects
Metal Gear solids
Oh and FFXIII
The weight problem is easily circumvented via a quick console command, that's hardly my biggest issue with the games. But there's only so many generic, copy-pasted dungeons I can take before I want to kill myself, not to mention the inane quests and writing. I usually just go "fuck this shit" and play The Witcher 2 instead. Like I said, the gameplay is just the height of tedium.
Skyrim is okay for a bit of sightseeing but even that gets old after a while.
Could this also be for unreleased games to?
Also can someone please activate me? I never got my e-mail. Thanks
Don't worry, it'll happen automatically fairly shortly
Counter Strike... My friends play it all the time, but I just cannot get into it.
I cannot play any Mega Man game, or this League of Legends thing. I just can't.
The Halo and COD series........I think they are overrated and not very good but my friends and other people fangasm over it
Monopoly
The Final Fantasy series.
I have never enjoyed a Castlevania game, and I've played all the fan favorites. That and any game featuring Crash Bandicoot.
The Call of Dutys are overhyped, although everyone seems to like them, im not into buying a new one every year.
Bioshock! Everyone i know loves it but i just dont get the apeal
Just see some one put the Final Fantasy series, criminal just criminal. :-)
things that have no real content in it (fps shooters or fighting mainly). I much prefer rpg games with a good story :3
The entirety of the CoD video game series, I despise it
Borderands, gears of war and final fantasy were terrible i couldnt get into them at all :/
good
Any mmorpg and the majority of sports games.
Call of duty, WoW, angry birds :P
I never really cared for any of the non-metroidvania Castlevanias. Not much a fan of linear platformers to start with, I guess.
I never got into any of the final fantasy games. they just never appealed to me i dont like rpg games i want to fight run attack and do whatever i want when i want to. the only game even close to that style ive played was phantasy star online.
I am however going to give the FF series a honest shot now that i have EMU's just trying to get some now by registering.
I still am trying to figure out how the heck to effectively load run and add a ps2 bios and iso so that it actually works. frustrating as hell. i cant get past the browser screen. and theres always an error when i try to load the iso
I was severely disappointed by the combat system in Final Fantasy XII
Say it with me..MINECRAFT. Do I not have the patience for this game or what or does it just seem too darn silly building stuff. Maybe I'm just not into the simulation type of games.
I'd say skyrim never really got into it
Hello everyone, can someone please activate my account?
Sorry to ask in this thread, but I do not have permission to create a thread for this.
I never received the activation email, and changing my password doesn't seem to help fix the problem.
Also sorry in advance if there is something I have missed.
See option 3 in this thread:
http://www.epforums.org/showthread.p...AD-THIS-THREAD
Staff stopped doing manual activations, it isn't necessary now.
Thanks, but I've already tried #1 - changing my password and #2 - connecting to facebook.
I could try the third option of posting several times in this forum, but at this stage it looks like it'll be easier to just create a new account with a new email address.
Actually, I will try option 3 first.
Okay so the types of games everyone loves that I can't get into are all those linear scripted games. The types of games where the developers might have been better off making a movie instead of a game, because the player doesn't really have any freedom. No friendly fire or sandbox features, etc.
Madden, or really any sports game.
God of War - I like blood and death but I cant stand how its thrown around the way it is in the game.
Assassins Creed - I just dont see it at all. I get bored after the first few kills
Zelda. I've never given any Zelda games a second look. Jus not what I want.
I've always hated Super Smash Brs.
New games I guess? Uncharted, the new Tomb Raider, God of War
I'm not a big Quicktime event fan and also these overly cinematic sequences in Uncharted are something that I really am not interested in.
I tried to get into the classic Sonic games, but I don't get why people liked the games so much (the gameplay at least, music, style and graphics are awesome).
