Was playin tales of eternia (tales of destiny II) on my epsxe emulator having no probs what so ever. When i get to disc 3 everything still running fine but for some reason the BGM is running faster than it is supposed to. Has anyone else ever had this problem before and know how to fix it?
Can't say I've ever seen this particular issue, but oftentimes audio problems can be fixed by trying a different sound plugin. At the top of ePSXe click Config > Sound to bring up the sound configuration. If it shows ePSXe SPU Core, try downloading Eternal SPU here; http://www.zophar.net/download_file/3260
To install the plugin, just extract that zip file into the "plugins" folder in your ePSXe folder, then go back to the sound config, click the dropdown menu and select Eternal SPU Plugin. If it doesn't fix the problem, click "Configure" on the sound config menu, then try checking the "SPU IRQ - Force interruption" option at the bottom under "Special game fix" and see if that does it.
tried that and it did not work, i even tried the lite one that came with the download. and altered some of the settings no change and sometimes it even slowed it waaaaaay down to where it sounded distrorted >_>;
Well, from some further reading on other forum posts about this game I'm seeing that some people have had some success using the P.E.Op.S DSound plugin, maybe try that? You can get it here; http://www.pbernert.com/spupeopsdsound109.zip
If that doesn't help I would recommend maybe trying a different emulator, like PCSX or pSX. If you'd like I can test the part you're talking about on these and try to find a better solution (pSX in particular requires converting/moving saves between different memory card formats, can be annoying), I'll just need to you upload a copy of your memory card (usually called epsxe000.mcr under memcards) and upload it using a file host like http://wikisend.com.
for your audio problem you could try using a better SPU Plugin the best one would be Eternal SPU in sdl mode you will get the sound quality similar to a ps one try it on resident evil P.E.Op.S DSound plugin is one of the worst spu plugins so i wont recomend you using it and if the problem is epsxe as always try pcsx reloaded is better than epsxe and is always being updated it works wonderfull
