Tales of Destiny II - can't unzip?

Hi all,

I'm new to PSX emulation, but got lured in by the promise of trying some of the older Tales games. I found your site yesterday and downloaded the file 'Tales of Destiny II (Tales of Eternia) [3 Discs] [U] ISO [SLUS-01355, 01367'. When I right click on the file and try to unzip with 7-Zip, I get the following error message:

'Cannot open file...as an archive'

I can't believe I'm stumped so soon in the process, because I'm a little more tech-savy than this, but I'd be grateful if someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong.

My first guess would be that the file(s) you downloaded aren't in 7z/zip/rar format, but in .ecm format, which will require a different program (namely, ECM Tools) to extract. You can download that here; http://www.emuparadise.org/PSX/ecm%20tools.rar

To use it, simply extract the archive, and then drag & drop the game files onto the unecm.exe from this archive.

If this doesn't work or the files you downloaded aren't in .ecm format let us know what format they are in; the file extension should be listed at the end of the file name. If it is not then you may need to disable file extension hiding in windows. Here's a guide on how to do that;

If the file type 'does' in fact end up being 7z/rar/zip, then chances are the file was corrupted during the download, and should be redownloaded.

It was 7z, but you hit the nail on the head when you suggested the file became corrupted. After redownloading the file, it's unzipping just fine.
