The Mega Man X Thread

Come gather 'round and let us rejoice in the glory of the Mega Man X series. Share our love and ire for certain games, be amazed at what huge nerds we are and possibly reveal our secret, forbidden loves for androids!

I'll start off by saying that I basically own the entire Mega Man X series. As in every game. Literally.

Yes, that's a Japanese copy of X3; cost less to import a boxed copy and alter my SNES to play it than to buy a loose US X3 cart. It's crazy how much those go for. And yes, I own a greatest Hits version of X4; I am dying of shame to admit to this.

And also, I shall rank the games! Because everybody has an opinion, and this is mine;

Maverick Hunter X > X4 > Command Mission > X2 > X5 > X1 > X8 > Xtreme 2 > X6 > X3 > X7 > Xtreme

So... yeah.

Megaman 2 still the best of all megaman games.

2 is just a worse version of 3.

I have ALL megaman games that were released in english in some form except for soccer, legends 2, and tron bonne

thanks for sparking my interest in tron bonne may have to play it.
As for the topic at hand I liked the mega man x series, of the ones I've played I have to say I like x3 and x6.

a game i never heard of for ps1 so I thought I'd check it out. I can be a bit impulsive at times.:shrug:

Megaman X7 is one of the worst games i've ever played... hands down. haha. But megaman as a whole is great beyond words

i don't mind X7 though i prefer X8

ah forgot that I played x 7 can't say whether I liked it or not as i never got past level 1.

I've played Mega Man X. Haven't really played the other ones. I did really enjoy Mega Man X, though.

2 is overrated as all hell and one of the least deserving "BEST MEGAMAN" title EVER.
Take off your nostalgia goggles.
MM2 was miserable. All it had was a heaven-sent ear-honey soundtrack.
Gameplay wise 3, 6 and 8 were better.
Level design? All after were better.
Art wise all games after were better.

Please note that I do not include 9 and 10 when I say "everything after". I haven't played those, as I don't own a last gen console.

And the thread was for the X series, anyway.
Aeolus, I'm jealous of you man. I've yet to get actual copies of the SNES games, and the GBC games... although I don't know if it would be worth it...

My favorite on the X series... uh, that's a tough one. 1, 2, 4 and 5 are all top-notch. 6 is a guilty pleasure, too.
I would adore 9 to happen, but after the destiny of Legends 3 and Universe I can't have too much hope for it.

Oh and it's not a secret to anyone that I dig Mega Man/X/Zero/Legends/etc. If anyone mentions games the first thing I ask is "Do you like Mega Man"? :lol

EDIT: I have played X7. It's not God-awful, but it's bland. The models don't look good, the soundtrack's mostly boring, but it actually had a lot of new things.
I really don't know why so many hate Axl. He plays very very well. Ability stealing, more weapons than X, hovering, auto aim... the only thing the kid needed was an armor.
