How do i open them, its a .CDI, and im using chankast
Mount them with Daemon tools (go to the Chankast websites forum for more info on the exact version thats recomended)
or you can burn it with Disc Juggler and play them from your CD Rom drive
i did mount with daemon but its not opening. it says on the chankast forums to use version 3.29, im tryin to find a download link now, im using 3.47 At the moment, and its not working. Also im checking daemon tools.org but i cant get to the site, it keeps timing out, ill try later..........
**EDIT**
Ok, i click help on the chankast emulator, and im configuring chankast. i clicked getting started and im already on step 3. its telling me how to configure everything...
Ok i select run (the game im running is Virtua Tennis 2 (got from torrent from Sprung). It gives me an error, cannot read TOC from g drive (g drive is the virtual drive that daemon tools is using.)
what does cannot read TOC mean? whats TOC stand for...
Table of Contents
it means it can't read the contents of the CD
P.S. Personly I couldn't get Daemon Tools working with Chankast but I got Chankast working from my burned backups through my PC CD drive, but then again I play those on my Dreamcast :D
so what does it mean? the file came from one of Sprungs torrents, would that have to do with anything?
Neh Sprung is usually has only good images, but if it wasn't selfboot or named noneboot Chankast won't work with it anyway.
Chankast is a pain to get it to read CD's correctly to start with though, it's also a bit picky as to what ASPI drivers it uses aswell as Daemon Tools
Personly if I was you I would burn it to a CD and try from the PC CD drive instead of Daemon tools.
Even beter look for a Dreamcast to buy, some NTSC ones will play backups (manufactured on or before October 2000) and all PAL ones play backups
so if i was to burn it to a disc, what do i burn? the CDI? just burn the cdi to a disc by itself and it will work?
burn the cdi with discjuggler using Burn CD/DVD Images
P.S. In discjuggler with Dreamcast CD Images you sometimes get asked to repair the image, always say no for Dreamcast CD Images
discjuggler trial will be good enough (the trial never runs out it just limits the burn speed but burning at the slowest speed is best anyway)
Hey, would a PAL Dreamcast play backups of an NTSC image? Do you need an NTSC Dreamcast for NTSC images? Or does the region of the image not matter?
My PAL Dreamcast plays NTSC games no problem, infact most the games I have are NTSC
A PAL Dreamcast lightgun does not support NTSC lightgun games though
http://members.lycos.co.uk/megalexxx/ will fix the odd game (it's only a few that need RGB scart fixes though)
Zorlon got a link to discjuggler? pretty please with a sugar on top.
what do i click to download. the site is confusing me. oh wait i see, click demo edition. nevermind. ill give you an update on if it works or not in quite a few minutes...the download link (mirror 1) doesnt load, its just a never ending loading screen. =[ =[ =[ =[ =[ =[ =[ =[ =[ =[
you can use alchohol 120% as well since you're having so much trouble with daemon tools. just like discjuggler the demo is good enouh.
it doesnt work with alcohol 120 either... it has to do with chankast not the virtual drive reread the topic dude....
