They might either send a letter or limit your connection speed. I've recently found out that my ISP puts you on a heavy users pipe for one week if you download more than 1gb from 6-11pm. I've been with them for almost four years now, they used to be awesome but they've gone downhill very rapidly as of late. In between that and their constant Bittorrent throttling I can't wait to ditch these clowns when the contract expires in November.
