You can add me if you want dude but I'm not active atm (also no Gold). I've been meaning to grab an S for a while now.
Picked mine up for $229.99 Canadian.
No gold either but it seems like you can still do a fair amount (have a 2 week code though but I'll hold off for now) Still some free little games etc. though.
Also my used copy of Fallout 4 came with a code for Fallout 3 - and it still works! Have a feeling I'm gonna fill up this piddly ass 500gb drive pretty quick :lol
Just updating my games and shit now.
Only 2 weeks? New MS consoles usually come with 3 months here they've been like that forever.
Fallout 3 should be like 1080p (on a launch or S) and the gfx will be better than PS3/360. Should be less frame drops too, might not be noticeable at all in fact but it'll probably still be around 30fps iirc.
I have it on PC and run it at 1080 anyways but still curious to see.
I got the most basic model so maybe that's why it only came with 2 weeks?? Not all that interested in playing anything online, just wanna get the updates and any free addons and maps and stuffs.
I think there's also an EA Vault thingy you can pay for to access more games beyond what Gold gets you. Black (Xbox) is in there apparently.
It's the S though yeah? You can still buy brand new non S or X here.
Yep it's an S. There's an EA access thingum that's free, dunno if that's it. Need it for Battlefront though apparently, it's queued up in my download list - I get a ton of addons for Battlefront with it too it looks like. Just updating Infinite Warfare now - 20gb. Gonna take awhile to do everything I think.
EA Access should be different to Vault. Vault is like the free games you get on Gold, but I think if you pay the subscription you can get anything in there for nothing and they keep adding more. Only a few old sports titles were removed due to licensing.
There are some original Xbox and 360 games in there too ready for Xbone afaik, you don't need the original physical game to install them.
But if you have original Xbox or 360 games that are on the compatibility list you shouldn't need to pay any subscription including Gold. You pop the disc(s) in and download the shit you need to upgrade them. Full downloads afaik as they're ported/optimised and enhanced for the new platform.
It's one thing MS has over the other big 2 imo, as well as the console you have there being so cheap and has proper 4k BD capability.
Here's a BC list if you wanna look through...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...s_for_Xbox_One
There aren't many original Xbox games, but they haven't finished yet.
Morrowind and Oblivion complete versions work, as do both Fallouts from last gen. There's also Witcher 2 and plenty of others worth mentioning.
Yeah I've got a few 360 games here. Only one I haven't beaten is Star Ocean 4, might see what RE6 and Hitman Absolution can do if they're supported but once agin I have those last 2 on PC running at 1080 anyways (actually I think I was running Hitman at 1600x1050 to get a little more oomph on extra graphics settings) Oh Dragons Dogma might be good on it and Ace combat 6 too. I'll wait on checking that stuff though, whole idea is trying to get into more modern stuff anyways.
Oh neat...Well it looks like the only 360 games I have that are compatible are Absolution and Tomb Raider Underworld.
Only one I've played through is Skyrim. Would've been different if I'd played the older ones back when then I would get the whole "nostalgia" thing going on  but as it stands it's not something I'm interested in at all.
Yeah I understand about the current gen games but I just wanted to mention the old stuff because...
1. you might still have some
2. 360 games in particular are dirt cheap, you can by a bunch of them instead of buying one current gen title ;)
You should keep an eye out for a few of the original Xbox games on the list though imo, they're worth more than 360 games now. TES III goty fetches more than $50au here for a good complete copy, both kotor's are worth around that too.
There is at least one exclusive 360 title on the list: Lost Odyssey. Maybe there are more...I think Black is console exclusive and the PS2 version is ugly rubbish (that has emu issues on PC last time I checked anyway).
Oh yeah Lost Odyssey was good. Beat that one years ago on my first 360.
Also, wonder if the recharge pack for a 360 controller works on an xbone one?
All you get with the Xbone S is a couple of batteries for the controller. No cable, nothing. Not that I don't have a bunch of usb/micro usb cables but still.
