You're quite close, actually.

The Shadowlord's castle is the end of the game. The key quest is the end of your free roaming. The junkyard is the only sizable bit (and you're on the last chunk. First visit: get upgrade materials, second visit: find mother, third visit: get MA Fourth visit: kill PN-03 (ha ha, pinocchio) ). The forest of myth is even more straightforward than the first, since it also uses the visual novel format. Facade is all cutscenes and plot before a boss fight (no dungeon!) and the Aerie revisit is no big deal.

The final dungeon itself takes a bit to get through, but it's so damn fun the time seems to fly by. Love that level.

I've actually never owned a fighting game, just played friends' copies of whatever, so it'll be interesting to see what kind story mode it has. Is CS a direct sequel story wise or...?

Yar, Ray, quick question (only partly here/quite distracted/otherwise occupied at the moment or I'd look it up): Do you know of anywhere other than the Aerie to grab eagle eggs? Or perhaps (doubt it, honestly) a way to increase the spawn rate?

Yes. It's set just a few days after the True Ending of CT (which ends on a bit of a surprising note).

It pretty much just picks up each character where they ended off and goes into more depth on the surprise revelations. Which then lead to the case where CS seems to end just where the story for CS really started to get good. Dammit all.

I swear to god, I try to use VATS only in desperate occasions, but the aiming system is so fucking awful I find myself using it most of the time. Bleh.

Looks that way. You might even end up with a speed run trophy, which will spare you having to run through the game on a slow evening to get that plat.

The sidequests can take a while. Also, of note, is that the second half of the game has different sidequests than the first half. And if you didn't do them then, they are forever closed off due to the weird way NG+ is handled. No full game NG+ for you!

Nope. Just that one spot in the Aerie. Keep trying over and over FOREVER. Fortunately you only need 4.

The DLC supposedly helps.

If you want a good strategy (the one I used!) just get on that bridge the leads to the chief's house. Since the egg spawn point is close to there, you can just run, check the spot, then jump off if you don't get an egg. That'll start you back on the bridge and reset (and reroll!) the collection point.

Or you could do that sidequest in the first half of the game to grab an eagle egg, then never turn it in. But if you're actively seeking eagle eggs, it's probably for Phoenix gear. Which means it's a little late for that. :wacko:

See, the problem here is you're thinking of Fallout as an FPS.

It's not. It's an RPG that just happens to look like an FPS.

Once you start playing it like it's intended, it gets easier.

Like, a lot. I build my character largely around VATS.

Partially because a high CHA no longer lets you talk your way out of everything.

Nor does a high INT cause people's heads to explode. Which says nothing of intellectual vermin being unable to grasp how hard you just blew their mind. Literally.

I'm saving the speedrun for my last, so I'm still in the first half of the game.

Don't you need low health for that/have the fall kill you for spawn points to reset?

Sometimes I feel bad for not understanding Fallout 1 at all. ):

But yeah, F3 gets a bit heavy on the bullshit, Deathclaws and the rabid Ghouls? You better set that shit in Very Easy and maybe you won't lose 50% of your health.

That's alright. I was vaguely aware that that was the case and have been half-debating simply starting a new file rather than jumping straight into NG+ after finishing this round. Then I can have a character named something other than "Milady~".

Stupid shade, indeed. And speaking of eating brains, the tree even started talking like Arakune after a little bit. :wacko:

And that's the best way to do it IMO. After doing both, getting to know the NPCs, hearing the flavor dialog between Nier and his party, and having some background plot thrown at you really improves the experience.

Yeah, you don't aim for the other bridge that's below you. You aim for the bottom. There's no penalty for dying. Only losing your position on the map. And whatever you happen to have picked up since going through the last checkpoint. Which is what you want.

Aquire the dart gun. It makes Deathclaws (and every other melee enemy) trivial to deal with.

What's there to understand? It's just VATS. Except with crotch shots and hilarious ways to get out of ever using VATS.

See, the trick is to max out small guns and/or big guns. And get a shitload of agility. Also, consider boosting luck and getting some crit skills. Then get yourself a good rifle or a minigun. Then aim for the head. Problem solved.
