The light side always seems to be more interesting in games, not to mention varied. Like in Fable: Almost all the evil missions were "Go kill x".
The main game stories are also typically better, with more attention paid to them and sense in the actions and dialog if you play as the good guy. Why the fuck would I be fighting the Sith and working with the Jedi if I were a bad guy anyway?
The bad routes are typically saved for the second playthrough if I can stomach another go/if that's an option.
Of course, Fable's moral system was wacked out anyway. I could change myself from fully good to fully evil and back again by putting on some different clothes, and getting a haircut and some tattoos. Absolutely stupid.
