Star Trek on tv has been a mix of bad and good episodes since TNG finished. DS9 was more bad than good, Voyager maybe only slightly better overall and ENT has only got better with age though there are still many annoying things about it like the captain. The new series seems generally better than the reboot movies imo.
When you churn out hundreds of episodes bad ones are to be expected :shrug:.
