The Soulja Boy Poop Out of Mouth Out - Atari Zombie Inside (or maybe not)

This isn't a cheap hobby like years ago. Hopefully things will calm down a bit but I'm not sure if easy to find cheap deals will ever be "normal" again.
There was already a growing problem with sellers driving up prices on all sorts of platforms before covid but it seems to be worse now.
Only way to get good deals is to watch things like a hawk and snap up a bargain when someone lists something cheap (and will consider offers) because they're desperate for money and pawn shops etc won't give them more than pocket change.

Having full on lockdowns over here now and then has given me the time to seriously look for some stuff. Plus some people are pretty desperate and want a quick sale.
Some of those same people aren't fully aware of going rate for items and haven't done research. It's pot luck though.

I've sold off a lot of games recently due to the prices shooting up. I funded a projector setup with some of it. I got a fairly decent deal on the theater stuff but :lol.

That reminds me, there are a bunch of PS2 games people have been porting over to PS4.
Most of PS4 library gets backported to old firmware so you can run new games on exploited console.

No idea about older shit though...
I don't think you can play any PS3 games on that no matter what.
PS1/PSP I would guess the hardware could deal with emulation but idk if it's possible on exploited console :shrug:

I've been tempted to sell some things but it's difficult with full lockdowns.
Technically you can't have people picking stuff up and you can't drop stuff off to them.
Yeah you can post, and posting stuff over here is cheaper than the US but lately the system is pretty stressed.
I've had packages go missing more times in recent months than over the previous 5 or more years :wacko:
I'm not interested in selling items and then losing money due to ebay policy just because the post lost shit I sent.
Yeah our system can cover loss up to like $100 or something even without insurance, but what a pain in the arse to sort out.

I have a friend in Melbourne that would probably buy some stuff but he can't come 100+ km due to restrictions. There was a window to do that a few weeks back but he was busy with important stuff.

Worth considering if nothing else. Cart only has gone down for NES but complete is still nutty. Price Charting is useful to get a rough idea of the going rate. You're better off selling elsewhere for anything that goes for $15 or less on ebay. With fees and shipping you'd end up burning about $5 at a minimum.

Our postal system is about the same as ever, maybe a little worse :wacko:. I've been trying to move away from ebay for sales due to policy changes as well as current and upcoming tax changes. I've never liked selling more expensive items there for the reason you mentioned.

Prices for loose carts have gone up here too. Everything went up as small market and importing costs more (also more difficult like for Japanese stuff).
Although it's still possible to get some cheap stuff; imported US NES carts are an example of this. Also, as I mentioned already, you can snap up a bargain if you find it quickly before it's gone.
I got an Italian Metal Gear NES loose cart cheap as the seller listed it as untested and also listed it as NTSC. The Italian cart is the same as the UK cart (both have English and are PAL A).

Atari loose carts have gone up, I got a small lot recently including some double enders but I got onto that quickly.

It really bother me about how more expensive and difficult it is to import from Japan now (Japan Post still not sending parcels here so DHL or whatever is only option).
For many years it was easy and cheap to import from there, a lot of sellers would have free shipping.
Euro stuff was next cheapest but that has gone up too. Can't import from all Euro countries atm but UK is fine.
NA stuff was always more expensive and higher risk (getting delayed or lost), but now it's insane. Still possible to import from there though.

Shipping rates from Japan to the US haven't gotten too crazy (so long as it's not heavy). The prices for items aren't nearly as cheap what they used to be though.

I was about to make that suggestion. If he priced it decently enough he could probably sell stuff locally or even online without much hassle. Some stuff is worth selling as a bundle because people will pay extra for the convenience or it's more likely to sell as one :wacko:.

Yes if you look at Japan Post international restrictions you can see US has basically gone back to normal. Maybe some other countries too, but not Australia.
It's still cheap and easy enough to send to Japan from here though (I sent chocolate and stuff to my Uncle some months back, it didn't take like 2 or 3 months to get there). It's just Japan Post being fucking retarded at this point.

Remote is when you live in the outback and have to drive a few hundred km's just to get petrol, or need an ambulance so they fly you out via plane :pwacko:

I hate selling locally anymore people are cheap lazy dicks around here. if they're not low balling they want you to deliver. also my schedule and life situation makes selling locally unviable most of the time.

I've pretty much stopped going to junk shops in recent years.
Yeah prices have gone up but I prefer to take my chances going through stuff at work.
Spend more time looking in the one spot, buy more stuff than I would with less travel and spend less on items.

I have looked at some garage sales (same as yard sales) a few times over the last couple of years but they get picked clean of cool stuff at like 6am.
Other thrift and second hand shops get picked clean too so you pretty much have to be there as something is put out.
At work it's much easier. I see things before they're even put out for sale :shrug:
