I like a lot of the 8-bit and 16-bit music in most old games. Super Mario Bros 1,2,3 and World, Sonic the Hedgehog 1,2,3 and Knuckles, and Splatterhouse,2,3.
Galaga had awesome music, even though there is hardly any music in the game.

Tetris and F-Zero
Most street fighter games (other than SF4 and SF alpha 3), and final fight had some really good tracks too.
I have been playing a lot of Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 lately, and i have to say that the music in that game is going on to my list of favorite VG music, the tracks are so epic seeming, the music is even good for crappy characters like she hulk.
Xenosaga 3 has some really nice tunes.
