most of this thread is moot point because time travel is impossible. it seems like everyone is thinking in four dimensions and about only a single universe, when there are actually an infinite number of universes (the multiverse, it has been proven in experiments) and probably an infinite number of dimensions to each universe. keeping it to one universe, the flow of time is a trick our nervous systems play on us in perceiving our surroundings and experiences. it is really energy that flows from one place to another and it only flows in one direction, meaning you can't reverse the way energy flows. The theory that says when (if) the universe starts collapsing back in on itself time will run the opposite way is total bunk, as energy will not reverse itself just because gravity does. the only way "time travel" could be accomplished is by connecting wormholes through Wheeler foam and you couldn't physically go through these holes, you would have to be converted into energy and then reconstituted on the other side. even if you could get to a universe that was similar to ours and was not running parallel to ours, it would not be exactly the same past as our universe.
Anyways, if you don't mind a little heavier reading, you should read up on relativity, quantum mechanics, theoretical physics and the multiverse theory.
Edit: Oh, and space doesn't exist unless there is energy to fill it. Chew on that for awhile.
Thank goodness we do have energy then :PQuote:

Since I haven't yet read back all the posts I may be repeating what others said but there is one way of time travel (into the future at least) in which your body wouldn't age...
Although in it's infancy still, one day cryogenics may be perfected and although the body would still exist in regular time the conciousness would awaken years or decades in the future with no aging or knowledge of all that has passed...
Anyway...I have alot to catch up on...thankfully I can figure many of the posts are pointless and I can just browse over them...lol
(Of course pointless posts are fun too) ;)
Sure it is, we just have to figure out how the whole space time continuem works. (i.e. not within the next million years baby.)Quote:

Now space travel is a thing of the past, we've been there done that.Quote:

I still think it's only probable, not possible.
Like teleportation, though that is possible.
(Kind of for Xena)
If time travel isn't possible then how can God be timeless?
Wouldn't being timeless be the same as travelling through all time at every given moment?
And if God is timeless (I know I am simplifying this but you get the point)
Then why was he upset when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit?
Didn't he already know they were going to do that?
And why was he so angered at the cities of Soddom and Gomorrah for living in sin?
He even allowed Satan to torture Lot so he could see the outcome and know if Lot would still love him after all his blessings were taken away...
And Abraham taking Isaac to be killed so Abraham could prove his love to God...
Wouldn't God have known already that Abraham loved him?
What an evil thing to do to a child (Isaac) if you already know what the outcome may be...
This supports the argument that time travel is impossible in that even God needs to test things to learn what the outcome may be, but it also destroys the argument that God is everywhere at all places and times that have or ever will be.
(I called God 'He' in this post just because it's a simpler way of saying God in the second person...although if I was made in God's image then my God has boobies...) ;)
Nevermind I just realized what she said.Quote:

The Abraham and Isaac thing was a test of faith. Isaac and Ab'ran were confidant that God could bring back to life a human being, after all Isaac was 30 years old and his dad was 90 odd, Isaac must have been willing.
Satan is taunting god, saying we only serve him for blessings, if torutred is what I must endure to help god, so be it. Warriors of Ja do not seek a life of ease.
If I could go back in time i'd stop Empire Records and emo music from being created. Allea, you are a thinker like me aswell. I always get into moods and times where I can't stop thinking about the inconceivably endless possiblities of... whatever. But I don't really anymore, cause it just gets me down. I just stop thinking about it when I sense myself starting to think of anything like that. We all die, so I don't want to waste any more hours thinking about that stuff, cause it doesn't help me in any way.
Thinking is good, conclutions are very good.Quote:
