I have no reason to install the updates and if I did want them I'd do so . All it does is waste bandwidth for me.
TBH I'm probably bothered more by browser updates. Firefox in particular seems to become frequently unstable/sluggish if I don't update when one is available, and web pages etc acting strange.
Firefox has gotten progressively worse since they changed their update model.
I used the group policy editor.

You could manually check for updates and still not install them up until recently.
Upgrade your speed if it isn't fast enough.
If you're actually talking about data then don't have a plan with a cap. I haven't been near a capped plan for decades.
Yeah but if it's updated it still works best with a lot more websites compared to other options.
I still use it mainly, but also have Opera for some sites that I need to use VPN.
Chrome I did have for a little bit but it was a pain on a bunch of sites. Attachments/images not working and other issues. It was like using a phone :lol
Not to mention privacy concerns. I hardly use Google at all now, it's just a last resort if I'm desperate to find something.
:bed:
The script I found to install it worked fine and I toggled updates off. I'll go online with it at some point and see if it's behaving.
