I've never really played an RPG of this kind, but I am really tempted by Witcher 3, it looks fantastic. I doubt I'd notice any kind of problem with it running at 30FPS on consoles. :PQuote:

So, is Witcher 3 a new game, or basically just a complex mod on top of 2's engine? I actually own 2 but I could never get into it. The combat was too ponderous without that massive patch one of the developers made in his free time. And with said patch enemies didn't give experience, which made combat a waste of time anyway.
Witcher 2 Enhanced was fine on 360, I don't recall having problems with combat.
It's an objectively good game, I just didn't care for it. Maybe I should give it another try, I dunno. Combat seemed halting and animation heavy with little flow, though maybe if I got farther in the game that would be alleviated.
The mod did help the combat's feel, but if monsters aren't going to give experience, it might as well be a Telltale game (which is a compliment; I love the consequence heavy choices and branching storylines). I liked the story, it just felt like the rest of the game got in the way, heh.
