Hi everyone, I joined a few days ago, would've posted here sooner but didn't know this thread exists until now.
Hi Guys I am new here, was thinking how I could make a psx Rom and upload any one got any ideas.
Cheers dudes, take it easy
Hello there
to make a dump of a PSX game is easy enough just start up ImgBurn (google it if you don't already have it, it's free software anyway)
select Create Image from disc
stick the PSX disc in ya drive... it should be obvious what to do from that point, but if not you can ask over in Everything Emulation I will help you there

Hi BlindBowman :wav:
Welcome to EP forums.
Stay a spell and have a chat.
Hello again EP. For anybody who remembers I'm a strange American boy who likes to count backwards and deliver terrible puns at the best opportunity  found an old bookmark so thought I'd pop back in (and nothing of value was gained that day).
TL ; DR,
Sup?
HI Verb.Welcome to EP. Unfortunately, the counting backwards thread is gone, but you're welcome in the hangout.
Thanks :)
And pretty sure it was the same SN, used to have an avatar with a cat with a sniper rifle. But yeah usually stuck to the hangouts mostly and was sporadic at posting at that...
Only things I can really remember being memorable was really pissing off a religious troll a few times by calling him out on some bs and talking to a lot of Canadians
But don't really see many familiar SNs anymore so I'll just have to show off my incredible awesomeness and humility again :D
You post in the guess the game thread, so I totally like you.
You should be here always. Always.
Scared off yet? No? Welcome back!
Think I remember the cat with a sniper rifle thing but other than that I don't think we posted on the same threads...
Welcome back regardless though :)
Probably should have posted here first. :-/
Old lurker, new poster. Thought I'd try my hand atsocialismbeing social upon realizing there's some love for classic foreign gaming here.
Most people these days seem to think it's all about modern games. Pfft. I took up Japanese because I'd rather play more games from the 90s than the best next gen stuff.
Other than that: I'm a complete nerd. In every sense of the term.
Welcome to the forums
Myself I enjoy games from most decades, mostly RPG but not exclusivly, though I don't know any Japanese so for the few Jap games I have played have had translations done by 3rd parties, so can be played in english, some of the translations I have played are re-translations as well that are fan based so should be more accurate than the original English release
Welcome and I forgive you for not post here first haha :P
I'm totally agree with you and Zorlon, I enjoy new games and old ones as well but I kinda identify myself with the older ones a bit more. Atm I'm playing Front Mission 3, the old Resident Evil's and Chrono Cross, those are really great and enjoyable games (at least for me) :)
Enjoy the forums and have a nice time.
Cheers!
Thanks, guys.
Yeah, there are plenty of modern games that interest me. . . I just find 16-64 bit more appealing. I have a list of over a dozen PS3 games I want to play, eventually. . . but I keep defaulting to the oldies, almost against my will.
Hell, the new GTA is out today, isn't it? And I'm more excited about the Fantasia Sango games I just got! (and I don't even know Chinese!) And even those are more modern than what I usually play.
And who needs a PS4 or XBoxOne when you've got a DOS backlog?! *retreats into stoneage*
I guess it's the nostalgia of when I played games for childhood escapism rather than just an adult hobby. Of course, it doesn't help matters that modern big-game-companies are largely becoming gimmickhungry franchising sellouts.
DOS is for girls try playing a few ZX spectrum games not sure I would go back as far as ZX80/81 though, even though I did have one
A bit of good olde Dizzy and Magic Knight games
GTA5 is on hold for me though as I do have far to many games to catch up saying that I think my GF may buy it for me anyway so I would prolly play it, but even for the PS3 and 360 I have a bunch of games I have not completed or even started in some cases same for PS2 PSX Xbox Wii Dreamcast Saturn most the 8 to 16 bit consoles and computers have something I have yet to play through, a bunch of Dos and early Windows games, the list would be silly long, yet I do go back to favs rather than new to me games so the list tends to get shorter very very slow.
Every console was Gimmicky in one way or another to compete with each other, this includes the game companies so nothing has changed that much

DOS is for girls
Only Spectrum games I've played (that I know of) were DOS ports of Lords of Midnight.
...Still have to play that 3D remake sometime.
As for gimmicks, it's true; Squeenix's fixation of making Lightning's boobs jiggle
http://kotaku.com/for-some-reason-li...ling-947463805
isn't any different than games for the PC-98 having H scenes put in last moment to increase audience appeal. . . but at least back then games were still being made by people who cared about the games.
As companies get bigger and publishers take more control in development, it becomes more clear that the people making the decisions don't play games themselves.
The result is Activision and Squeenix umbrella corporations pumping out video game zombies. :!!!:
There are tons of speccy game re-makes some have nothing changed a few has graphics upgraded, you have probly played tons of games that originated on the speccy comps
Even Spectrum games had boobs and nude peeps, strip poker games ect Leisure Suit Larry, Leather goddesses of phobos (this one was a text adventure, there was much filthyer ones than this one though this was more fun than filth) for a couple of olde PC games that should be well known... not that you could tell half the time anyway, sex sells and it's not just restricted to Jap only games and certainly not to new games.
Old games like Elvira are never gimicky, they are realy good games but yeah they are as gimicky as you can get
And I'm sure they done a lot more besides make whats her faces boobs bigger for FF.
Hi everybody!
Long time lurker, I finally mustered the courage to post!
(aaand I terribly suck at introductions, ahah.).
